Their other (first) version of this has an integrated metal part that serves to let you screw and unscrew it without any additional tools.This one is prettier, and cheaper, but by having to use an hex wrench to take it on and off, it means you can't easily remove it on a whim.I thought I wouldn't want to remove it, but actually it's a bit inconvenient sometimes to have it on there.For one, it makes the tripod mount unusable.For two, it makes it so the camera will not sit flat on a table or surface. I didn't realize how much this would bug me.Lastly, the entire weight of the camera is hanging from this little thing. I guess it is secure, but I feel nervous anyway. I end up kinda holding on to my camera, or putting in in a camera bag. I just felt more secure with a normal strap, although with this gadget, and the strap from the same company, my neck definitely feels better - no pain. It's just that the angle it puts your camera at feels dangly and swing-y rather than secure to me.So, in sum, this definitely is more ergonomic but I'm not entirely satisfied with it. It does work exactly as described and seems high quality so I can't fault its production. So I'm rating it 4 stars because I think it is a good product, just not perfect for me.

This screws into the tripod mount at the bottom of the camera. It has a thick rubber ring between it and the camera, which prevents scratching and also keeps it securely screwed in due to compression (I can't help but check it every once in a while).Two unavoidable things: It has to be removed to attach it to a tripod, and it covers the battery / card compartment so I have to remove it to do that also, which leaves my camera vulnerable in my fumbly hands! Otherwise, does what it's supposed to.
