Easy to install, renewed life for an old favorite
I really like this item. I usually avoid non-oem mobile device batteries, but the stuff from NewPower99 gets pretty good reviews, so I thought I'd take a chance on it to replace the battery in my Nexus 7 2013 that's been on its way out for the past couple of years now, exhibiting some screwy behavior. Past week or so, it just wasn't charging fully any longer, and was taking days just to get up to 50 to 70%.The NewPower99 replacement was surprisingly easy to install. The only "difficult" part was separating the oe battery from the battery caddy after I had the battery out. It's stuck onto the caddy with really strong double-sided tape. Looking back, maybe a heat gun or hair dryer would have help ease the battery's separation from it. The caddy wound up a little bent, but it's easy to reshape with some needle nose pliers. Just take your time and go slow when removing the original.New one went back in easily and smoothly, and started charging nicely immediately. Full charge in four hours. Probably would have been sooner had I not been using the device. I left it on the charger overnight to give it a good solid charge. I expect the device will run nicely now. Will report back if anything changes, but looks like a solid option to breathe new life into old devices. Would buy again and may pick up others for other devices.

Nice tools, dead battery
The tools in the package really help to disassemble the tablet and replace the battery. Plastic bar for opening the case is not that sturdy, but enough to open one or two tablets.Battery I received was dead. I could charge the tablet and use it, but it discharged very quickly into deep discharge (when the tablet is blinking white LED instead of showing an empty battery picture when turned on). My original 5 years old battery was working much better. I'll have to put it back again.

surprisingly easy to do
The kit came with the battery, some tools, and a short video demonstrating the battery change. Very well explained. My battery changeover took slightly longer than in the video. It was really glued in there. Once out, the new one went in easily. Nice touch, the small screwdriver included was magnetized, so getting those tiny screws in those tiny holes went quickly. A well designed replacement kit. My Nexus is back in action again.

Works well, seller is great
The first battery I ordered three weeks ago got lost somewhere in the USPS system (imagine that). The seller shipped another one, which arrived quickly by UPS (imagine that!). The video made the job easy, the new battery charged up from zero and works well.Good product from a good vendor. We'll see how well it performs six months from now, but so far, so good..

Replacement works but battery life span is horrible
Fairly straightforward install if you follow the video. The issue is that this replacement battery doesn't have the battery life span that the original does. What I mean by that is that it will not last as long as the original battery. It's a band aid fix. I strongly suggest against it if you use the tablet regularly like I do to stream music or cast videos. I encourage you to look for the original equipment battery.

MY NEXUS 7 HAS RISEN FROM THE DEAD!!!
Knew the battery was dying on my N7 and thought the device, always a favorite, was heading for the recycling bin. Saw this kit on Amazon and decided to give it a try. I’m no “techie” and I’m not good with my hands, but I watched the video and dove in. The tools provided in the kit are ESSENTIAL. Getting the back off is difficult. Unhooking the ribbon connectors is tricky. The screws for the battery holder are TINY. Luckily, the provided screwdriver is magnetized. My battery was glued to the holder so I had to muscle it out and bend the holder back to shape. I managed to get it back together and charged it for a couple of hours before turning it on. I was amazed!!! It worked!!! I’ve been using it for over a week. It holds a charge and discharges normally with use. I recommend this product. Thom. H. Magnuson

I've never had luck cracking open a tablet
Maybe this will work for you, but I get a dead screen after putting everything back together.First, I cracked the case prying it away from the screen. Done, but not fatal. Then, the battery doesn't just pop away from the tray, it is taped in so you have to deform the tray to remove it. Again, unexpected but not fatal.Popping out the three connectors went pretty much as in the instructions, but putting the small black ribbon connector back I think it bent or broke a pin. At least when I opened it again there was one contact pin missing. On power-up all that I would get is a flashing light at the bottom of the screen.So...in summary, I've tried to replace screens on an iPad and now a battery on this Nexus 7 and both ended up a waste of time and money. For $40 I went from having a weak battery to a dead tablet.

Great battery, good lifetime so far
Good battery replacement for the Nexus 7, I bought one with battery issues and this one has lasted a good while in the device with no problems. Running LibreOS it can standby for several days without issue and even intensive processes don't seem to cause excessive battery drain. This one is a good choice.
