Everyone should have a battery tester. Without one you simply do not know whether a battery is charged or discharged. This simple, easy to use battery tester will confirm the battery status of any AAA, AA, C or D type cell, rechargeable or non-rechargeable and even 9 volt batteries too. It's a great tool for troubleshooting and if you have any problems with a solar light, the first thing to check is always the batteries to make sure they are charging up. Without knowing for sure, the condition of a battery, troubleshooting a solar light can be more difficult. It can also be used around the home to test batteries in toys, games, remote controls, electronic devices, flashlights and such like. Batteries not included.

Clumsy but useful
This little thing is cheap and it works. It's just about as accurate as a much larger and more expensive "serious" one I have. That makes it quite useful with so many things using small rechargeable batteries. That said, however, it is awkward to use, as the square design makes it difficult to make good contact at both ends of a battery. Even so, much better than "testing" recharged batteries by installing them in various remote controls.
