Musicals, Second Edition Hardcover – February 16, 2021

A wonderful book. Beautiful pictures. A quality product. Good for a gift!

The book is fairly comprehensive, covering Broadway musicals up to about 2021. It is lavishly illustrated and provides basic information about many shows that have been on Broadway, even flops. It gives data on the producers, director, choreographer, composer and stars in the original production. I gave it as a gift to a young lady who likes to sing and perform in shows. I hope she enjoys it.

I bought this as a gift for my coworker and she loved it! This book is SO much larger than I thought it was going to be. I was afraid the book was going to be some skimpy little thing and it is solid. It's absolutely stunning. As a graphic designer, the layout of the content and photos are very beautifully done. This is a must buy if you or a friend or loved one is into musicals.

My grandson is in his first musical this year and loved the photography, history and stage layouts in this beautiful book. Highly recommend !

The perfect book for a review of Broadway Musicals.

There is musical history before Hamilton, and musical history after Hamilton. You cannot NOT include Hamilton. This updated edition includes it.

The book is good and covers a lot of musicals, but the photos heavily favor film versions rather than original stage versions. Would have preferred to see more pictures from Broadway productions. There are some bizarre choices. The Mame write up with picture of Lucille Ball in the bad movie version rather than Angela Lansbury in the hit Broadway production? And four pages devoted to Mary Poppins, a musical that originated as a classic movie, and not a single picture with Julie Andrews or Dick Van Dyke? Bizarre.

This book literally had chunks of pages cut like someone used it as a book for a project. My kids were so sad when it arrived!
