I like this form of agar agar for desserts and it also adds an extra textural element to drinks like Faloodah, (excuse the spelling), without affecting the rose flavor. Easy to use for novice cooks trying asian cooking.

Because these are used as a thickening agent, I don’t expect their poor condition to alter the actual mechanism of thickening itself. It will only be harder to measure out a needed amount. However, packing fragile products with heavy metal items or filled jars does not make sense. Someone needs to closely look at Amazon’s packing/shipping processes! Being a multi-billion dollar company that can afford damage losses does not excuse the frustration, waste of time, and inconvenience to your customers/buyers!
