It doesn't turn on its faulty. Was missing one of three batteries so had to buy my own. And when I put 3 brand new batteries in the torch it wouldnt turn on. Have to return it. Very frustrated I needed it straight away as a safety item for my boat.

Not super bright, but a good wide beam. A nice light that can still fit in a jacket or hoodie pocket. Seems robust, time will tell. Would buy again.

[All purchased from Amazon.]) This 200 Lumen Dorcy Pro Series has improved overall lighting compared to the popular Dorcy 55 Lumen model that comes in many lively colors here on Amazon. The real game changer for me with this 200 Lumen model is the tint of the LED as well as the even spread of the lighting, as the light that this LED gives off is a far more pleasantly warm hue of light. Seeing warmer tint of the light in person in a dark room at night really doesn’t do any of my photos justice. It’s so much easier on the eyes. At least for mine! The only reason I could see someone wanting the other 55 Lumen model is if someone likes the more concentrated circular lighting, while not minding/preferring the blue-tinted (or cold) LED lighting. No, these 2 flashlights aren’t what you would call expensive. No this isn’t the brightest flashlight, yet the light output from this with 3 AAs is more than satisfactory, and the battery life is fine if it really lasts the 17 hours as Dorcy claims. I haven’t tested the battery life yet. This model definitely floats, as it’s the same design and dimensions apparently of the 55-Lumen model. but I wouldn’t take this thing swimming, surfing, snorkeling, etc. since I have seen some reviews claiming it’s not water resistant/proof. Also, for a flashlight at these prices, I am not surprised they may not be waterproof! ————————————————— EXTENDED REVIEW: Do you desire a flashlight that: - has a more eye-catching body color of yellow rather than those ubiquitous, dime-a-dozen, everyday black flashlights? - just turns on with a single press from an easy to see and feel for power button? - doesn’t have different modes such as high/medium/low, and/or zoom to confuse you with? - takes normal AA batteries that most people have around the house to use for emergencies? - doesn’t cost a whole lot? So if you lose it, etc. you won’t feel too bad! See where I am going with this?! I first purchased the 55-Lumen Dorcy LED flashlight (in yellow) in 2019 in a 2-pack and it holds up still. But, I have no idea why I didn’t see this 200 Lumen model that has the EXACT SAME dimensions and design of the 55-Lumen model. Dorcy simply added an improved (at least in my opinion) LED that is a warmer tint, floods the area more evenly for improved overall vision, and yes, it is brighter too! This 200 Lumen model was only a few dollars more than the yellow 55 Lumen model too. They both take 3 AA batteries as well. I will of course keep the 55 Lumen model, but it’s going outside in the shed to make room for this new, brighter & warmer tinted flashlight in a kitchen cabinet. For some people (maybe most) flashlights are an afterthought. You buy them, and don’t think about them later till you need them and discover all their hidden traits. I love to play with my gadgets, perhaps a bit too much. I compare & contrast almost everything. That’s human nature how people look at everything and see how something matches up to another thing. Not everybody has the time to compare/contrast everything all the time. Life simply happens. Take a look at the photos to see for yourself. I used normal AA alkaline batteries in all the models (no NiMH rechargeables) while taking the photos at night in places where people may use flashlights, and I tried to best label each photo so the viewer can discern which flashlight is being tested. (#1 is the Dorcy 55 Lumen LED flashlight model, #2 is this review’s model & #3 is the Dorcy 190 Lumen CyberLight Durable LED Flashlight with True Spot Reflector.) I hope this helps others that may be curious about the tint (or color) their flashlights give off... especially in the dark or if you need to use a light for an extended period, etc. (UPDATE: June 2024 - I just decided to buy 2 more of these 200 Lumen Dorcy models since they are now on sale for ~$10 each. I orginally bought this model for $9.99, but after the pandemic, the prices really shot up and I regularly checked the prices for this model and this is the first time I have seen them at a decent price. Anyway, as for usage, both the 200 and 55 lumen models of the Dorcy flashlight still work like a charm. I kept the 55 lumen model out in a shed outside all that time, and the 200 lumen model indoors. The 55 lumen model didn’t have its parts corrode. The batteries inside of it probably have been changed and/or corroded and cleaned during that time, but I can’t recall exactly. However, another branded flashlight kept in the other shed next to it, an Energizer 2-in-1 LED lantern/flashlight combo only a few years old that I really liked eventually had its parts inside the flashlight corrode. Even cleaning the Energizer flashlight wasn’t enough to bring it back to full functionality, so I believe these Dorcy lights are much better for outdoor longevity use than at least that Energizer model, which isn’t even available anymore on Amazon. Still, check those alkaline batteries every now and then as you should for many of your electronics to make sure they aren’t corroded. Maybe my Dorcy model lucked out and won’t last another year outside. Who knows?! The Dorcy 200 Lumen flashlight is now my favorite alkaline AA flashlight. The 55 lumen model is still ok too, and I love how it still works from being outside and outlasting the Energizer model, but the 55 lumen model still doesn’t have much to sway me over the far superior 200 lumen model.

I go open-ocean kayaking (often alone), and while I never intend to be out on the water after dark, I always plan for the worst. I have several devices on my kayak that make light, from my cell phone, to my solar-panel kit, to my battery pack, to an inflatable solar-charged lantern. But they're all devices that serve other purposes that just happen to have a light on them. I wanted a dedicated light source that is bright enough to be able to signal for help. This flashlight fills that roles excellently. It is very bright! It has an LED, instead of an incandescent bulb, which means it won't burn out within my lifetime, can take a beating and still function, and it consumes significantly less power (so the batteries will last longer). It also uses "AA" batteries, not "AAA" batteries. "AAA" batteries are significantly less efficient than "AA". When I look for a flashlight, I automatically pass on anything that's powered by "AAA" batteries. "AA"s aren't that much bigger, but hold significantly more power, so to speak. All that said, the flashlight is also a nice bright yellow color, making it easy to find it in the bottom of a bag. It has a large clip at the end that can clip onto just about anything. And the flashlight floats. The only thing it is lacking is a way to recharge its batteries (like a dynamo crank), but I was willing to over look that, as it's hard to make that crank handle waterproof; and I have plenty of other rechargeable light sources on my kayak. This extra bright flashlight would be reserved for signaling for help at night.
