Buyer beware. The item that arrived is different than the pictured item. In the photo, the strip looks like a large band-aide with four strips of a sandpaper-like substance on it. I have used those before, and they work well. The sandpaper-like substance is really strong and the tape adheres well to my dog (stays on for many days).However, the strips that actually arrived, although made by the same company, are very different. The strips that arrived look like the ones in the attached photo (a band-aide with no sandpaper-like strips on it and yinyang-like design on it), and DO NOT adhere well (they fall off in a matter of hours) and DO NOT stop a dog from licking. Waste of money. Nurtured Pets should go back to the old design!

One star only because zero is not an option. I attempted to use this product on our English lab. The strip would not fit around his ankle. The real problem, however, was the plume of lick deterrent that burst into the air as soon as I opened the package. I don't know what it is made of, but it was exceedingly unpleasant. It also made it nearly impossible for my now bleary-eyed, hacking and sneezing husband and I to place the ill-fitting strip on our poor dog, who was already a bundle of nerves and terrified of the whole process. Ten minutes later, the inside of my nose is still burning, my husband is still sneezing, I cannot let my toddler in the bathroom because of fumes, and my dog is licking his ankle again. Major fail.

Itching is a big problem
I've come to realize that when a pet, dog or cat, has an itch, nothing can stop it from scratching. People are the same so why think you can solve an 'itchy' problem.

the theory is good, but unfortunately my girl didn't read the paper
Well, the theory is good, but unfortunately my girl didn't read the paper! It lasted less than 12 hours, plus I think she ate the gauze. I hope others have much better luck with this product than I did! My girl will be going back to the dreaded E collar.
