I do not use these tubes as they were intended. I use them to hold my colored pencils upright in divided boxes. They are very sturdy and held their shape even when cut to the size I needed. That tells me they certainly would perform well as a home for solitary bees or wasps who do not construct their own homes.

I was going to make a bee box by drilling out dozens of holes in pieces of scrap wood that I have. I saw these on Amazon and read the other reviews and figured this was a much easier option. I built a frame out of some scrap Trex and just filled it with these. Perfect!

They are a little shorter, and the cardboard is thinner than others I've used, but the mason bees seem to love them, choosing these straws over my thicker ones.

Replaced old tubes in mason bee and native pollinator houses my students made and monitor. These are better than the originals. Former students have asked about replacement so I gave the excess to them. I will place another order soon.
