Henderson's Relish 284ml

Henderson's is the way to go!
I learned about Henderson's Relish from a Def Leppard interview I saw on YouTube. Two members, Joe and Sav, were on a Morning Football (for the US, it's Soccer) show and were asked about "must haves" backstage. Henderson's was mentioned by Sav. I got some to try and have been ordering it from Amazon for the last 7 years. It's a MUST have in my kitchen! I use it in marinades, add it to cooking meats and vegetables, add it to soups, etc. I haven't used Worcestershire Sauce since 2018. It's Henderson's for me!

Interesting condiment.
I use this in my cottage pies and Cornish pasties. I will try to find more applications. It has a flavor resembling that of Worcestershire sauce, but is less pungent. It is also much sweeter and with the addition of tamarind, has a bit of tang to it. I combine it with Worcestershire with happy results. It's a bit pricey, but a little does go a long way.

This you will enjoy! Bloody Mary with Hendos.
Chance brought me to view a short documentary about "Hendos" relish. I was fascinated, particularly to know it IS NOT LIKE Lee & Perrins. I enjoy flavors. I ordered a bottle and bought a simple 8 oz Angus skirt steak as the test subject. Of course, I sampled the relish first and found it was mild with a little kick at the back of the mouth from the ginger and cayenne. I pan-fried the steak, preparing only with SPG, and Hendos during cooking. Oh, the pleasure from the sauce! So delightful. Better than Lee & Perrins. I'm sold on Henderson's Relish. Protocol be damned, I'll be using it on individual slices of a bone-in rib eye roast this weekend. I will try it in a Bloody Mary soon. As far as I am concerned, Hendos has converted me.Delivery was fast. Two days later: Used Hendos in a Bloody Mary. It was bloody delicious. A lot smoother than using Lee & Perrins. Great flavor addition to a classic drink. Anyone who tries this should not be disappointed.

Strong and Northern. . .
. . . and superb! As a vegan, having a good dressing and relish on hand is a must. You don't have to be vegan to love this stuff; it really is a unique, handly little flavor to dash on all kinds of things, limited only by your imagination. Between this and a good malt vinegar, it's proof that British food is not boring!

Don't really know how to describe this stuff
It's kind of like Worcestershire, but it's not. There are some flavor profiles they share, however Henderson's is definitely more vinegary. In general, though, they are their own thing. I just made some chili this afternoon and I used dashes of both. Side note: I only ever make chili with Impossible Burger. My wife doesn't eat meat, so it's a great compromise. If I'm making some Asian inspired dish and I discover I have no limes, I definitely add Henderson's in addition to straight fish sauce to add some acid and enhance the umami over, say, rice wine vinegar. It's vegan, so it's a great Worcestershire substitute if you're preparing Vegan meals. My wife's out at my daughter's to babysit our granddaughter tonight, so I'm making myself hot links and fries for dinner. There's no question about what I'm going to be splashing the fries with.

Don't Purchase - glass breaks and no return policy!
I used to like this product, but not through Amazon delivery. Not only was the liquid leaking from the bottle all over the package, there is no way to return or get my money back. I am so disappointed because I've enjoyed adding this flavoring to many dishes. Just beware!

Great for those who don't risk Worcestershire sauce
I stay far away from Worcestershire sauce due to anchovy allergies. A few years ago I was suggested this as a replacement. I hear it's a touch sweeter but to me it's given back some of the tang that I miss in foods. And a whole lot easier than just whipping up some concoction to fill the gap. Lately it's been a bit harder to get, I hope that reverses soon.
