Easy to use and sturdy enough to last a long time

Why did no one tell me earlier in my life about using an ice cream scoop for cookie dough? WHY? I have wasted so many years of my life mucking around with sticky dough on spoons! A++, great for scooping cookie dough. I imagine it'd be good for other things, too (like ice cream, I guess). Nice, easy action, not too hard on the thumb. Only downside is that there's really no way to wash the underside of the little scraper/releaser bit other than swishing it well under hot water, as its full range of motion is flush with the scoop.
