These folding GPS mounts are exactly what I needed. I'm surprised that this design isn't the standard by now.Made from tough yet light aluminum and easy to assemble and modify. For example, for my application I needed the mount to poke through a covered dome but in doing so, I didn't want to make it a permanent fixture so I could still remove the dome when necessary. However, if I didn't "lock down" both ends of the rod then it could easily come apart and fall off in flight.I solved this problem by drilling a tiny hole in the lower collar and rod, tapping it and inserting a set screw. The modification went smoothly and works great. I've since swapped out all the GPS mounts in the rest of my quads.I highly recommend this product and I'm curious to see how others will use and modify it for their particular application.

Had too small issues with these, neither of which will keep me from buying them again. First was that they are made a little heavier duty than needed for what I was doing, which is likely just a personal preference. Second was that the base is not machined as one piece, it is 2 pieces with the round threaded part being press fit into the base. Not an issue if you use the center hole to mount, but I was using the 4 mounting lugs, and the press fit failed on a tip over during setup. Luckily I was able to put a screw into the bottom mounting hole and hold the assembly together.

A little heavy for 5" quad, but will modify with dremel to reduce weight. In addition to the four mount slots, this has a 2mm center thread at bottom! Nice, rigid.

Does not include any type of tool to assemble...they could have included a $.010 allen wrench of some sort to assemble or at least told you what size to get. Fail.

The threads strip and then it flops around. Complete trash.

Terrible quality. Fasteners were not machine properly and dont screw on tightly. Avoid.

Most of them are nice and tight fitting. A couple were sloppy. Nice colours.
