We ordered the mild version of this Young Guns Hatch Valley Red Chile Sauce, as the basis for making homemade enchiladas, Chile Colorado, Chicken Paprika, Fundido Dip and so much more. A sauce can always be 'heated up' but it's harder to mellow a really hot one, though sour cream helps a mite.Made Chile Colorado a few nights ago with a few pounds of stew meat, 1 can Rotel Diced Tomatoes & Chilies, 2 Cups beef broth, 1 Cup of this Hatch red chile sauce, half a spoonful each of cumin and oregano. Simmered 2-3 hours and the results were outstanding. Fresh tasting chile from New Mexico in each and every bite. 5 stars for an excellent product.

I only found out about New Mexico Hatch Valley chili sauce recently. The stuff is REALLY good and is pure red chili puree. I used it for frito pie recipe and while the kids were hesitant at first, everyone loved it and the flavor of the chili sauce.I make a homemade traditional chili and I will be using this as my base going forward.

Very expensive for amountBut if you want authentic red chile this definitely will hit the spot.

I love their green chili sauce so I wanted to try the red sauce. Unless I got a bad batch, this is the worst chili sauce I’ve ever tasted. It has an “off” taste and left a disgusting film as an aftertaste and was bitter. Also, The plastic jug was dirty, covered in some type of white dust and the lid was dirty like it had been opened with dirty hands. I’m actually disgusted by this. It went in the trash. Hopefully, this company will make this right somehow as it is non refundable and no way to contact the seller. Bad business as far as I’m concerned. The green chili was excellent though. But This red chili sauce was just horrible and would not recommend even take chance because of the high price too.
