Hawk MAT-1218B Cutting Mat

I use this when I'm working with small pieces of cut vinyl. I've used both X-ACTO and OLFA style knives and no matter how hard I push, I haven't scarred this mat. The foam backing keeps the mat from slipping and the grid lines help when you need to eyeball a measurement or line up multiple pieces.If you want a mat that rolls up for storage, look elsewhere. This is a nice, rigid mat that feels built to last .

This is another one of those things I'm not sure why I didn't buy sooner. It's been great to use with the rotary cutter. I have noticed more permanent cuts left by my circle cutter which requires sometimes significant force when cutting cardboard or plastic.

I have had other higher quality cutting mats in the past, but I feel this is a good value. I would not recommend this if you intend to do a lot (high volume) of ultra fine cutting as it does not self heal as well as other mats. For other uses it will work well.
