Question 1

Chest size in the picture is mialeading and offers two chest size ranges. What is recommended for a 6month staffie puppy 60cm chest. M or L ?

Accepted Answer

I have two harnesses. My smaller dog uses a SMALL. Her chest is 60cm and her neck is 36cm. There is quite a lot of adjustment for both chest and neck. I think you need a small. If you buy one, measure the dogs neck and adjust the neck straps before placing on the dog, then adjust the chest straps as required. I am so pleased with these harnesses. regards.

Question 2

Is it waterproof - good for dogs who swim?

Accepted Answer

No it is not waterproof as it is like a padded material, my dog swims in it and is fine, but does soak up the water, but is quite cooling for my Labrador. When washed comes up really clean but takes a while to dry. But I love ours!
I think the ‘sports’ harness is more suitable for swimming as it is a lighter thinner material.

Question 3

Hi I have measured my puppy rotty. I want to know when you have put size down is that the smallest size fully tightened for the harness or the largest

Accepted Answer

Hi, the sizes given are - small 40-61cm, medium 61-79cm, large 79-104cm, xlarge 104-120. For example on the medium 61cm is the harness at it's tightest and 79cm is the harness at it's loosest. Measure your dog and for example if it measures 65cm you know that size medium would fit. Hope this makes sense to you. If you're still having problems you can email the company with your dog's measurement and they will tell you which size to get.

Question 4

Is this escape proof,?

Accepted Answer

I wouldn't call this harness escape-proof if you have a very determined or nervous/anxious dog. Whilst it's much more secure than the likes of the Julius K9 type harnesses that go across the front, a determined dog could probably back out of this harness if say it got caught on something or panicked. It wouldn't be easy, but definitely possible. If you're looking for something 100% escape proof then look for a harness that has two under straps, one under the chest and another under the belly. I have primitive breed hunting dogs who would fly off after deer etc. if their equipment failed, and I am happy to use this harness on them, it actually fits much better than other harnesses I have used previously.
