Swagman Retro Bicycle Basket

This basket is very sturdy and secure. It help my 2 literally bottles and I wasn't worried about it falling. It didn't sway my bike a bit while stationary, but was so sturdy while riding. I love the fact that the basket comes off for shopping. Definitely worth it

I was looking for a basket for the front of my bike that had the following features:> Well built> Small mesh on the bottom to prevent things from falling out> Ability to remove the basket to take into the grocery store> Would not interfere with brake or gear cables.This basket fit the bill.Took about 30 minutes to install. The instructions were not really the best. It comes with four sets of plastic rings that go over the handle bars and inside of the basket mount. They are labeled with the dimensions of the handlebar. Not having a clue as to what size my handle bar is, I wound up installing/reinstalling the mount twice.Hint - Rather than put the rings on the handle bar first, and then trying to get the flanges of the rings into the basket mount, I'd recommend first putting the rings into the handle bar mount, then add the rubber filler bands, and then put the rings over the handle bars. (see photos).Once installed, it looks/feels pretty solid. There is no movement of the bracket on the handle bars. There is a very slight jiggle of the basket at the point where it is connected to the mount. Nothing that should worry anyone.As you can see from the photos, the basket does not impede the brake or gear cables.

Almost Awesome design and mounting! Bought this for my wife's bike. But the handlebar mount is 1/4 inch to wide for this mount. Ended up putting it on my bike. Very sturdy and would definitely purchase again if they made the mount slightly wider.

The media could not be loaded. I bought several different types of baskets for my bike until I finally found the absolute most perfect one.* so easy to install. took me 10 minutes* attaches and detaches with a simple click of a release button. this feature makes it so convenient for me bc I live in a large apt building with lots of people coming and going. When I get home, I can just lock my bike up and take the basket with me.* extremely sturdy and stable. My 6 pound Maltipoo is safe and secure in this thing. He has plenty of room to move around and i even attached a water dispenser to the basket so he can drink whenever he's thirsty.* it comes in black but bc its a wired basket, it can easily be painted if you prefer a different color. I'm an artist so I plan on custom painting it..I really can't think of any negatives about the product. I'm really pleased with my purchase. You can't go wrong with this basket.

I basically got this basket because my mountain bike with front suspension doesn't allow for installing any other basket in the front. Simply, the brakes/shifters wires are taking up the whole space and any extended basket must be mounted on the wheel which doesn't work for the front suspension.The basket and its bracket are of very high quality. It is well built and feels very sturdy. The basket was very easy to install and very easy to attach/detach. I tried to load it with heavy stuff from the supermarket (several pounds, not quite sure how much, but they were heavy), and the basket was fine with them. No problems.The only thing I don't like about the basket is that, even without any load, it feels to be "heavy" on the bike when it is parked. You don't feel this problem when driving the bike, but you feel when trying to park it. Basically, the front wheel with the handle becomes so unbalanced to a point that the bike can't be parked stand still (using its little leg) with the basket installed. It will tend to tip over very easily!However, I am very happy with my purchase and I find the basket to be very convenient.

I have moved to an area that is only about half a mile or less from my local market. As I need to exercise more, I decided to buy a basket for my bike so that I could cycle to the market and back instead of using the car. I checked out various products online, and the Swagman seemed to do the trick. Well, it's terrific! Very well made, the bracket is rather clever, well built, and easy to place on the handlebars. There is a bracket on the basket that clips or unclips from the bracket in a jiffy. The basket is large enough for random shopping at the market, or carrying water etc. and snacks for a bike ride. If you want something to carry on your bike, this will do the trick!

Took us about 2 hours following the very limited instructions.we kept trying to use all of the included hardware as it is supposed to be "UNIVERSAL" but after getting so frustrated with the lack of instructions and noticing someone on YouTube forgoing the little plastic pieces of garbage we did the same and were finally able to mount the stupid thing. only using the little rubber tracks.with the plastic devils on the parts were never close enough for the short bolts to grab onto the bottom part.It hasn't fallen apart yet but its only gone on one short slightly bumpy ride with the basket holding things. time will tell.

Installed fairly easily on my cruiser bike, bracket rests against the handlebar post, so gives it support. Only thing I don’t like is that the handle works it’s way up to vertical with the bouncing of the bike, have to shove it below the rim to stay down. Wish it were another color, but function over form I guess. Size is good for a stop at the store for a few items and for my bike lock while riding.
