Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity

They forgot to put the Ha! into Harley or the Joke into Joker.
The artwork and presentation in this book are amazing. I loved the style and tone. The writers, however, forgot to add any sort of comedic element to either Harley or Joker. And they could have had any other names and the story would have played out the same. It's a tired old tale of the detective trying to catch the killer and it completely disregards why we love this duo. There are some vague hints of admiration on each end, but nothing really comes of any of it. If you are expecting anything close to Mad Love you will not find it here.At the end, one of the writers talked about not wanting to do an exaggerated Harley, but they failed to understand that this is exactly what we love about her. She is over the top, light-hearted, and criminally INSANE.Why so serious Joker/Harley comic? -__- Give us SOME laughs, please.Art team, you are beautiful, the scene where Joker and Harley first meet is masterfully laid out. I might say this is worth buying for the art alone. And the setup had a lot of potential. I kept waiting to see how he would twist her and change her mind about him. With the dynamic they gave them, that would have been riveting. But it doesn't happen. The whole ending seems tacked together and rushed while they spent forever on the more boring elements earlier in the story. Definite pacing issues.

A fresh twist on a classic DC tale
While I really enjoyed this read, I couldn't help but think back to other recent remix Harleen which I felt had a much stronger atmosphere. still this was exceleent and the black and white color scheme added to the noir feeling.

Couldve, shouldve been written better
Didnt like the fact that most of the artworknis black and white. The buildup to the apex is awesome but then the apex qas kind of a let down.

Good OTHER EARTH HARLEY BOOK
Book is really good art is nice. Harley comes out like Jessica Jones here. 2 problems for me 1 they waste one of the chapters on criminal case files that has nothing 2 do with story and 2nd is THEY TELL U WHO JOKER IS RIGHT AWAY!!! STILL WORTH A BUY

Interesting story
So this doesn't read like a Harly Quinn or Joker story. If that's what you're looking for you're probably going to be disappointed. But it is a really cool story especially if you're into crime or detective type stories. Harley as a profiler is a really cool read. Not the greatest but I enjoyed it.

Alternate origin story for Harley/Joker, graphic, beautiful artwork
This is a Black Label graphic novel that offers an alternate origin story for Harley and Joker. The book has nine chapters, and about 300 pages. The book alternates between black and white and color, often switching for flashbacks or different time periods. Overall though, contrary to what another reviewer said, it looks like more than half of the pages are in color. This was a great outside-of-continuity graphic novel. It is a “Black Label” book, so obviously not for kids, and therefore the book is much more graphic than most regular comics. The story is pretty good, but to me the artwork was the most impressive aspect of this book. I like the idea of criminal profiler Harley, and combining both a Harley and Joker origin in one book is a creative idea; but the artwork is what really makes it memorable. If you are a fan of these characters, you might enjoy this retelling. It is somewhat of a more realistic and angry Harley; but whether you prefer this version or not, you probably won't be disappointed by the beautiful and graphic artwork.

Brilliant story, amazing art!
It's a gorgeous piece of art. It doesn't seem a sequel is on the work, which is too bad. I'd love to see it happening one day, with the same artists. Because the only critics we could make here is that the story isn't really complete. We see how Harley evolves from normal to vigilante, but I'd love to see how she will transit from vigilante to batshit crazy. In that regards, the other recent harley story called "Harlenn" by Sejic is more complete. But still, there is no need to oppose the two books: both of them are absolute must have for any comic book lovers or DC fans.

It takes a predator to catch a predator
This book exceeded my expectations. In fact it shattered them. I thought this would be another retelling of Harley's origin story. The book goes too better it is the origin of this worlds Joker as well as Harley. There are a number of cameos from staple Batmam characters, and Batman himself, but he is AWOL and has been really hiving these characters the chance to shine in their game of tiger vs. Tigress. In important to note is not quiet Harley Quinzel that is chasing to Joker out of infatuation, it is tough as nails Harley Quinn after a killer for revenge. This version of the Joker is not quite the agent of chaos he is every bit as evil, but with a purpose. He even looks more menacing. The story is as dark as it should be. The language and artwork a perfect for the adult themes. The research and bringing a genuine profiler really paid of in the story, really giving the extra authenticity it needed. Everything and everyone working on thus book seems to have gone the extra mile to make if perfect. The read the interviews at the end of the book.I also like the way the artwork was flipped. The present is in black, white, red and hints of green, but the flashbacks are in colour. Cleverly done. This is a great book Batman and the Joker have always been two sides of the same coin, but this Harley and the Joker are the same side of a broken coin on a collision course. What happens when they are reunited?

One of the Best Batman Graphic Novel without Batman
This is a really neat graphic novel that collects what in my opinion as the best series offered by the DC Comics Black Labels so far.The writing of the characters is spot on and the contributing artists are all excellent, which suits the style of the story. I would definitely recommend this graphic novel if you are a fan of the character Batman, Joker or Harley Quinn.

not as special as it should have been
Messy story. Just didn’t enjoy it. Can I put my finger on why? Just felt really formulaic. Could have been any two people. There was nothing specifically Harley or Joker about these two. Several incidental references to the Batman canon which brought nothing to the story.Nice artwork. Hence two stars.

Fantastisch
Superknappe strip, knap artistiek werk. Mooi boek.Zonder beschadiging toegekomen wat een wonder lijkt als je naar de beschadigde povere verpakking kijkt.
