Solid build, does what it says, Good Mid Lvl at a low price point
The RSHTECH 7-Port Powered USB Hub Expander is the good solution for anyone looking to expand their laptop, desktop, smart TV or gaming host's USB capabilities. This USB 3.0 data port hub is equipped with 7 USB 3.0 ports that offer data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps. The speeds are maxed at 5GBPS which I only consider low given todays standards of 10GBPS to 40GBPS. That said this would be a good option for those needing extra ports for moving around small files and are not worried about time. This USB hub is also equipped with a 5V power adapter that ensures your connected devices have a steady and safe data transfer. This is great for sitting at home at a desk but for travel requires one more plug to worry about. But its small size of both the unit and the plug make it acceptable if you are considering to travel with it. Additionally, the RSHTECH USB hub features individual On/Off switches with LED indicators, making it easy to keep track of power status for each port. I found each button worked constantly and easily without fail. have a smooth tactile responsive feel and low throw. LED lights are bright and easy to see even in day light and the location next to the port instead of above and below leave no room for error in hitting the wrong one. The hub is made of high-quality aluminum alloy and ABS design, making it sturdy and durable. The compact design makes it easy to install and use in your home or office. I have found that all of RSHTECH's products have a great sturdy design. I have found all of their products ascetically pleasing. feels solid in its design. The cables supplied are very thick and need to be bent into shape or can easily flip or move the unit as it is very lightweight. The package includes the RSHTECH 7-Port USB 3 Hub, a universal 5V/2A power adapter, a 3.3ft long USB 3.0 detachable cable, and a user manual. This item is good for those looking for a reliable unit at a low price point who aren't bothered by mid level speeds. The company itself has always stood by their warranty and quickly issued any replacements if requested. the customer support has always been friendly and quick to offer solutions. I would love to see them push past the 10GBPS barrier but do not believe they have an interest in doing so. That said I believe if they would beef up the power supply, add an ethernet port, and an HDMI port this device could see a wider audience. Until Next Time Deleted User

This actually works, and so do the features that make it stand out.
My need for multiple USB ports on my Surface finally caught up to me. When I first learned of the limits of the unpowered multi-port USB hub I bought, I realized I was on another short runway leading to a new, powered hub. That research effort was just as confusing AND frustrating as the first, but the costs were greater, both physically and operationally. Let me make this simple for everyone. This device works. Period. The on/off buttons work. Period. There are no cable length problems, there are no problems at all. I have numerous USB needy devices from my extra monitor, lighting for video sessions, my Samsung external SSD drive, the external keyboard I need because the keyboard cover/connector for my SurfacePro 4 died and I can't get it fixed, to my audio mic and video recording equipment. They all work FLAWLESSLY! When I was finally able to get everything connected at once, I had a problem with video and audio. Apparently my Samsun Q9U believes it's THE most important device connected to my computer. It takes over ownership of every audio signal regardless of where it comes from. The ability to "turn it off" when I need to use my notebook audio or any other form of audio is a life-saver. Again, this hub works flawlessly. I've been using it now since August 22, 2022. At the writing of this review on November 17, 2022, that's 59 days of heavy use (excluding the 28 days we were in Europe in the middle). That's why I'm writing this review now instead of shortly after its purchase. I wanted to make sure it worked as advertised AND that it would work for MY needs, I wanted to use it for more than a few days burden of my actual daily work demands, and I wanted to make sure I was happy with it after being away from it and all my technology for 4 weeks. As you can tell by this review, it passed all test with flying color. I most heartily recommend this device for anyone who needs to add more than 3 USB ports

This hub is GREAT.
I have used this hub since October 2022. I have four 8TB external HDD connected at all times. I can switch ON only the HDD I am using at the moment and switch OFF when finished. The data transfer rate is great. The first drive is photos, second drive is photo Back Up, third drive is videos and the fourth drive is vdeos Back Up. I use the other available three ports for momentary Back Up drives for various computers and short transfers from flash drives. This hub has been GREAT. The build quality is GREAT. The design is GREAT. The value is GREAT. It has been perfect for my needs.

Works Good. Dead ports? Read this…
Pros: - Switching off unused devices speeds boot-up & saves RAM. - Continues charging your device after the PC shuts down. - Saves wear and tear on your PC ports Cons: - Charges better than my PC alone, but don’t expect “quick charging”. - About those dead ports, it might not be the hub. I’m not sure about IOS, but Windows can be finicky with USB hubs. Some of my RSHTECH ports went dead, so instead of digging into device manager, BIOS or the registry, try this: 1. Shut down your PC 2. Unplug the RSHTECH power 3. Unplug the RSHTECH USB from your PC 4. Plug in a new device (like a thumb drive) into that same port 5. Reboot and make sure the new device is working properly 6. Shut down the PC 7. Unplug the new device and re-insert the RSHTECH plug into the same port 8. Reconnect power to the RSHTECH 9. Boot up your PC If you’re lucky, Windows will recognize the hub as a new device and reset everything.
