I bought this insert to use with my canon rebel xti. It fits comfortably along with two extra lenses (also fits with a lens attached). It also holds the charger and extra batteries without feeling too crammed. I put the insert into a purse so no one knows it is actually a camera case! I like that the lid is completely detachable (it velcros on the front and back of the lid). Other inserts have a hinged lid which makes it impractical when using inside another bag (which isn't that the point of an insert?) The padding is not super thick on this insert, but I still feel that it gives enough protection. The bottom of it doesn't have quite enough padding in my opinion, but when it is inside another bag I don't worry about it too much. I would recommend this insert for anyone wanting an easy way to convert an everyday bag/purse into a camera case!

This bag is great for protecting most DSLRs while still allowing you to choose your desired outer backpack or bag. I have tested it with a Canon T2i and a Canon 60d. Both fit well with the 18-55mm and 18-135mm lenses. The velcro partitions allow you to customize the interior to best fit the camera and lens combo. This larger 3.0 insert provides a more spacious interior to accommodate two extra lenses and/or hot shoe flash. I appreciate the removable lid that attaches closed with velcro and two handles on either side of the case. I deduct one star because I wish the opening to the bag was a bit "taller" so a DSLR with a battery grip attached at the bottom could fit. My T2i with batter grip fits close, but distorts the bag too much for the lid to close properly. All I need is an extra inch.

I bought this to fit into other bags, so I could use something other than a standard camera bag. I'm pleased with the quality, and the simplicity. All of the internal sections can be repositioned with Velcro, and the top is attached with Velcro as well, so if you want easier access inside your bag, you can just remove the top and place it underneath for added padding. My Canon T2i fits nicely with two other lenses, and some other small accessories. I do not attempt to use the center foam around the lens of the camera to hold it, as it's not really big enough to go around completely, so I just put it in the bottom of the middle, like a cradle, and then I have a hidden compartment underneath it. Works like a charm.

I purchased this insert to convert a purse, I had purchased recently, into a camera bag. While I love my Ape Case for carrying all of my gear on a shoot or a long trip, this insert is perfect for being able to carry my camera with me in a way that doesn't let unsavory types know I have a couple thousand dollars worth of equipment with me.You will never get all of your gear into this insert, but for keeping a camera and lens on you (with all of your other purse items) at all times during the course of a day or a quick weekend jaunt it's perfect without the look of an obvious camera bag or the extra expense of a camera bag made to look like a purse, this will be ideal for you.I love it so much I'm going to be purchasing another one of the 3.0 and a 2.0 for those smaller of my bags.

I did a ton of research into bag inserts, comparing all of them thoroughly. This one was by far the winner, and I am really surprised it's not the most popular one.Pros-Padding - thick enough to feel like good protection for the camera. Not super sturdy so sides have a bit of give and the bag can accommodate something a bit larger or odd sized easily, while still protecting everything. If you're looking for an extremely structured bag thought, this may not be your favorite.-Material: Outside Material is nice, thick canvas like to protect from water. Inside it's lined with a soft plushy fabric, so it's extra gentle on gear and the velcro dividers can be attached anywhere on the interior to shape whatever compartment works for you. Some other cases are lined with non-velcro sticking material and only have certain strips where the dividers can be attached, limiting your options.-Dividers: It comes with two general size dividers and a 'holster' shaping round one. The holster even has a notch cut out to rest around a built in flash. With the holster only you can have a very convenient set up with one lens on each side and a camera with a lens attached rested in the middle, ready to grab and use. With the other two dividers you can change it to whatever else you may need.-Lid: The lid is completely detachable.. If you carry the camera in a multi purpose bag, you can keep the lid on, and it secures with velcro. If you don't have other items in the bag, you can completely take the lid off, so you have quick easy access to camera as soon as you open your outer bag. And you can nestle the lid on the bottom of the bag, so you have extra protection and always have it handy. This is the only insert that I saw with this design - all other either had no lid, or permanent lid only. The lids were often hard to secure, or harder to open that this one.-Straps: There are two straps on the sides of the bag so if you want, you can attach a standard detachable bag strap and use it as a standalone bag.-Make: Feels well made and sturdy. All the stitching looks good and tight. A lot of the more popular inserts seemed to have a large amount of complaints of falling apart.Cons-No small pocket for memory cards and the likes. Not a big deal for me, but it would make it a bit more convenient.The insert fits beautifully in all my fashionable tote bags, for all the ladies out there. I normally carry a Canon 60d with a Tamron 17-50 2.8 lens attached and placed in the holster, with a 85mm 1.8 on one side and a 50mm 1.4 on the other.If needed, I can stack the two primes on one side with an extra divider between them, and fit one more mid sized zoom on the other, or two flashes with triggers and charger. And it seems it can take more if you need it to, those are just my needs. I would double check measurements if you need to fit a full frame body with an attached grip though, it might not have the height for it.

I've read lots of reviews on all inserts I could find and I'm glad I found this one! I almost threw away over $300 for a designer camera bag and I'm so glad I didn't. I was able to convert one of my beautiful designer patent leather totes with lots of pockets into a stylish camera bag. My Canon DSLR with 2 lenses fit nicely (it's nice and tall for my telephoto lens) and I'm able to fit a small tripod on top when tote is zipped up. So perfect! Great padding and Velcro inside allows for movement and the lid can be removed as well.

Awesome concept and it works great for my need. If you are like me, having a few camera gears and gadgets meaning have to buy bags for those toys. This bag works with my existing laptop backpack and other bags we have while on family's vacation. It seems to give enough cushion to protect delicate parts inside. Highly recommended.
