Professional remodeler....our go-to
I own a remodeling company. We have used this product several times. We are always pleased with the results. Prep, prep and prep. And when you think you’ve prepped enough. Do one more round. We use abrasive scour pads, CLR, and a bleach based bath cleaner. Make sure it’s super clean and then rinse clean with warm water. Then completely dry with lint free cloths. Make sure you ventilate as much as possible. We wear a respirator, chemical gloves and splash goggles. The chemicals to clean, as well as the AquaFinish have extreme odor. Put the time into the prep, follow the instructions to the letter, and this is a fantastic product.

Spend the extra money and buy this product.
Used this to refinish my tub roughly nine months ago and it still is holding up great. I used the Rust-Oleum paint on my first attempt and while much cheaper AquaFinish definitely seems to be the superior product. While I learned several lessons from my first attempt(such as sanding more thoroughly and never using bath mats with suction cups) I believe this paint seems more likely to last for years versus the months of my original Rust-Oleum. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money as the labor for this project is not something you want to have to repeat again if you can help it.

Good product. Just make sure you prep and coat properly
Very white and shiny clean looking surface on the old tub. I recommend using a new roller for every coat. Don't use foam rollers as they can be torn easily from the stickiness of the product. Use a short nap non-foam roller. Apply several thin coats (there should be enough for 3 coats at least on a tub-only refinish. Let it dry for 40 minutes between coats. A respirator is a must. Not just a dust mask, but a respirator. Good ventilation is a must. Adequate surface prep is vital. We cleaned the tub 2 times with tub cleaner, 2 times with Ajax, and sanded it to scuff up the surface. Then I wiped the tub down with Acetone to remove any dust and get the surface dry before finally applying the first base/thin/priming coat.

Must have ventilation!!!
I bought this product after reading all the good review and how good the job it came out. I watched their youtube video and the job seems easy. In the video, the guy didn't even wear a mask. The instruction that came with the paint did say to paint the tub with proper ventilation. It didn't stress enough how important it is to wear a good mask and painting in a bathroom with no windows. The tub I was painting was in a bathroom with no windows but a passive ventilation system. I was wearing a 3M N95 mask. The fume was trapped in the bathroom. After about 10 minutes of painting, I got dizzy and couldn't breathe. I have to go outside in the open to gasp for the fresh air for like 10 to 15 minutes. I got a huge headache and my vision got blurred. I finished the first coat regardless by holding my breath for about 30 seconds each time I go inside the bathroom. On the next day I got a better 3M mask with breathing vent. That too didn't do the job. You'll need a gas mask! If you are doing this in a bathroom with no windows, you need to have a fan blowing the fume out of the bathroom. After I finished the second coat, I went home that night and goggled about bathtub refinishing job. I read some report that some tub refinishing workers died on the job while painting. It was a scary thing.I'm not directing the negativities towards this particular product but to all bathtub refinishing products. I'd suggest not doing this yourself if the tub is in a bathroom without a window. If you still decide to DIY, then use a fan or some kind of ventilation tube to suck all the fume out. Inhaling the fume for a long time is deadly. You must also do the painting quickly. The paint gets sticky very fast. It gets so sticky that small pieces of the foam roller sticks to the surface. You must use more than 2 rollers for each coat. When it start getting sticky, you must change the roller to a new one.At the end, the job that I did was just okay, not great. If I had proper ventilation and more rollers, I'd have done a better job.

Sheesh
The foam rollers that come with the kit are not to be used with the kit they will f*** your job up unless you can roll the whole thing out in 2 mins because that’s how much time you have into the provided foam roller starts falling apart. At this point your f*****. Now you’ll have to let the tub fully cure out. Then sand it down with what ever grit sand paper is necessary to knock down the mess that the POS provided foam roller that come with the refinishing kit made. Then sand one more time with a 320 -400 grit sand paper to smooth the tub back like it should’ve been. If you have a hvlp sprayer I recommend you tape off everything an spray.

the sturdiest finish we’ve used
have apartments with ugly colored tubs so we painted them - nice white finish, does need redoing periodically, but only a touch up usually. Do need to avoid abrasives and suction cup mats.

Porcaria, Guvnu, Dreck
There is no SDS or chemical profile available, use a RESPIRATOR; it appears to contain xylenes and toluene, the product has poor open-time and becomes tacky and tears the foam rollers apart; this leaves little specks and spots in the finish. The paint's low-shear component is inadequate, as it begins to run you have to catch it with the roller which is disintegrating. Poor product development and poor R&D follow-up. Better buy Rust-oleums kit at 1/3 the price, much, much better results. Now i have another 3-hours of sanding/refinishing and i'll have to buy a Rust-oleum kit because of this porcaria.
