LapCaddy Lap Desk (Black)

Very comfortable memory foam! I can use this for hours with my laptop and it's still comfortable. The hard surface on top is great at keeping the laptop cool. I like the pockets on the sides and the handle is convenient for moving it around. It's nice and light, but also a good size.

I got this for my Fiance because his laptop is janky and over heats. It works well to keep the heat off your lap but doesn't squish much at all. so your laptop will sit 3 inches on top of your lap, plus what ever the laptop is. Just so you know.

This works very well. I don't really use the pockets on the sides, they're kind of small. Though would be good to use for pens or pencils. I like that the top can be flipped for different uses and one side with a lip so pens don't roll off. Very comfortable on my lap. Very good for the price.

Measurements are: 17.5 x 12 x 4I bought a red one in January 2012 and have now purchased this black one. Two reasons: First, the elastic corners of the first lap desk have stretched so that I have used black duck tape on top left and bottom right to keep the plastic lid on. Second reason is that I like the black better because it doesn't clash, the color doesn't stand out screaming look at me. Overall, I love this lap desk because I can't eat on the sofa without it holding my handled tray which is now the primary use. I quickly advanced from 10.1" Toshiba Thrive Tablet to a 7" tablet for reading in bed. Because I also have a laptop I rarely use the 10.1" tablet and don't use it as I did in the beginning with the additional case and keyboard. I occasionally use the velcro pockets on the sides of the lap desk. Again, primary use for me is holding my handled wooden tray, which is about the same size, for eating on sofa, which has become our form of eating most meals now a days. The lap desk is easy to put aside and return without dropping or losing things.

It is really ugly. I might feel differently once we use it. At present I would not recommend it because it is just not attractive.

The lapcaddy has an extremely firm foam bottom for your lap. This is precisely why I bought the product....no bean bag type soft bottom. It has a lip on one side so laptop and papers will not slide off. It can be turned around if you don't want a lip in the front. Pockets on the left and right side are for ink pens, etc. with velcro closings. Has a carrying handle, but have never used it. The hard plastic top can be removed from the foam base. The plastic top attaches to the foam at the 4 corners with elastic. Only problem I have had is the elastic will need to be replaced soon. I never take the top off, but the elastic is stretching out. This is a perfect laptop desk or table for home or the car. Cover unzips for cleaning, but haven't had to clean it yet.

I bought it for my kids to do their homework on the drive to/from school and practice. It is perfect. It is very light so they can maneuver it easily. It also seems durable to handle the abuse kids can dish out. One of the best online purchases I have made in quite a while.

I needed a desk for while I sit on my bed in the early mornings to write (and another place to work at other than my desk) and this works wonderfully. It's angled so it sits on my legs and I don't have issues with my notebook or pencils falling off. The pockets are useful for when I need to adjust my sitting (or laying) position or relocate to another room, I can stuff pencils and erasers in and carry the desk like a briefcase.
