Must have item if you have spools of paracord lying around!
This quite possibly is one of the best items I have purchased this year. I have had two spools of about 100 ft of paracord hanging out in my garage with no real practical way of managing it until I purchased this.Pros:β Contains everything you need to use the paracord; the actual paracord, a blade to cut said paracord, and a small lighter to seal the ends of the paracord once cut.β The lighter holder is designed in such a way as to protect the lever of the lighter so that it does not accidentally get depressed if you throw this in a bag or car and forget about it.β The blade is replaceable with a standard utility knife blade if you ever wear it out somehow.β Nice touch extras: has a hole that you can put a carabiner through so you can easily clip it to a go bag, backpack, etc.Cons:β The spool only holds 100ft of paracord which if you are in an actual middle of nowhere emergency can go really quick so it would be nice if they also offered an "XL" type version that holds a little more.β If you have this spool filled to capacity, it gets quite fat and wide. It would be nice if it was just a little bit longer to keep the paracord from creating such a big "belly" on the spool.β The notches at one end of the tool made to hold to loose end of the paracord from unraveling are extremely tight and make using them almost not worth it. The concept is fantastic but the execution is a little flawed. Conclusion:While not perfect, this tool is still in my opinion a "must have" if you have any paracord sitting loose in your house. It is easy to use; the blade cleanly and easily cuts the paracord even if the spool is wound up to capacity, and it has everything you need in one place so that you don't need to go searching for three different items the next time you need to use your paracord or want to take it with you on a trip. This tool makes it supremely easy to have an emergency stash of ready to go paracord in any place you need; the car, bug out bag, hiking pack, etc. I highly recommend picking one or five of these up!

Good item, but overpriced
I dont want to ding the item too much as it does what it should and seems well made. I applaud the design and the idea, but I feel like this is way overpriced. I take full responsibility for buying it, I dont feel deceived at all. You know when you order that item with the know.edge that you will regret spending that much after you get it? Yeah, that is me with this one. On to the item... Seems fairly rugged, but due to the bulk I dont recommend it for a pack. I see myself keeping this in the garage for a ready source of cordage or maybe in a vehicle. Maybe in a camping box / action packer. The blade is a neato-toroedo idea, but I carry a folding knife that works well. The holes for melting are ok, again the end of the lighter works well to feather or narrow the melted ends. Lighter storage is another neat idea, but a dedicated lighter is not necessary for me since there are others stashed in fire kits. Again, Im not knocking this item AT ALL! It is just an overpriced solution to a pseudo-problem. However if you go in with that knowledge and make it a conscious purchase decision, then I say hit the throttle and scoop it up. Just know that it may get relegated to a secondary location / role due to the reasons above.

Outstanding quality and design! (... w/slight mod)
I bought two of these in order to store up to 100' (as advertised) of 550 Type III paracord /each. I viewed several instructional YouTube videos and thought the mini Bic lighter holder and replaceable integrated blade were ideal. I didn't mind the higher price tag as these two features would keep my cord storage/usage self contained. The carabiner hole is a nice touch too. Shortly after receiving them I noticed they were smaller than expected (6"x3") and really only hold roughly 50'-75' of 550 (7 strand) cord comfortably, which was okay with me, however, the largest of 8 slots on the side does NOT fit said 550 cord. I simply can't get the thickness of the cord to go beyond the edges and snap in!For the price I paid ($17.95), I shouldn't have to rework the proprietary burn slot! For now, I feed the end paracord through the carabiner hole and knot to hold. :/This (made in the USA) Spool Tool is a quality multifunctional product both in form and function that needs just a little tweaking in it's design to make it perfect... until then I won't be buying another... well, maybe...UPDATE:This Spool Tool really is a slick and comprehensive design to neatly store your cord. I've just ordered my third Spool Tool in 'Coyote' and will most likely order more as I can afford them. I currently use a fine fingernail file to ever-so-slightly file down the entry edges of the largest slot until the cord is able to snap into place. This works well for me.Yes, I would highly recommend this tool (with mod). :)

ParaCord Spool Tool
At first glance, the Paracord Spool Tool was larger than I expected, but that's not a problem because I had already planned on hanging it from my backpack. The construction of the tool is great and not likely to break from falling. It easily holds a mini Bic Lighter that can only fit in one way due to a small piece of plastic inside the carrier. The plastic piece meets up with the gas button on the lighter, probably to protect it. The razor is well placed and can easily cut through 550 cord. I don't know how it will cut any higher paracord strength and size. The reason I gave it four stars is because of the cord notches that hold the loose ends. When pushing down on the cord to lock it into place, I had a difficult time. NOT a big problem. I simply filed down inside the slits, just slightly. That made it easier to lock in the cord, but also kept it locked in. So if you do decide to, file just a small amount at a time, then push in the cord to try it out. That said, I really like the execution and design of this product and will happily buy one again!

If you plan to carry paracord around with you, ...
If you plan to carry paracord around with you, these things are very handy. Easiest way to store & use paracord. Also holds a bic mini lighter, and if you combine it with a carabeaner, it clips onto any bag.

PERFECT for Paracord!
These are PERFECT for storing paracord, with the small exception of being difficult to get the cord into the outside notch.

It is what it is, solid, sharp cutter ...
It is what it is, solid, sharp cutter, the clips hold bics well. The line notches are a little tight, but it's good
