EVERNEW Appalachian Set

Very quick boil time, unlike any other alcohol stove I have used. The combination of the cup that fits into the stove and the burner greatly increase fuel efficiency. At 5.6 ounces I carry this and a couple of ounces (liquid measure) of alcohol in my daypack all the time with a couple of my favorite tea bags and/or single serve starbucks coffee. I've enjoyed a hot cup of tea on several hikes, much more convenient and clean than my wood stove. Although so expensive I put off this purchase for a couple of years now. To purchased a Firebox Mini and liked it, but I did not spend the money for the titanium model because I'm cheap. Now, with the Evernew, I have a titanium alcohol or wood stove and the cost of the Firebox, well let's just say if you buy quality once you'll not regret it.

Best stove I have every purchased, it is SO bloody light I take it everywhere. I have at least 10 different types of stoves, all excellent, but they get left behind because they are too heavy or bulky. Perhaps the best bit of mountain kit I own. Would pay twice as much for it. I design/explore/ unroll 100km ultra trail marathons. And I'd say this kit is worthier than I am.

Bottom Line is I will return it if they take it back used. It is super light, but does not work as expected or what should be expected from a high end expensive kit.Stove: The stove drinks fuel. One ounce is needed to boil alcohol is needed to bring 400ml of water to a rolling boil using the accompanying stand. With a cross stand it need one ounce to get 400ml to the boiling point. With my Trangia, it takes 1/2 ounce. 2x the fuel consumption is unexceptionable.Stand: as noted above, the stove works much better using the stand. The issue is the stand doesn’t fit the Trangia stove and the Evernew stove uses twice the fuel.Pot: pot is great. Incredibly light, even compared to other similar sized titanium pots. The issues I have is since the above stove doesn’t work like it should I wanted to put a 100g net ISOPRO fuel bottle and stove in it, but while the bottle fits, my MSR stove does not. One of the super small 25g Chinese stove probably will, but they also don’t work as well.

If you're looking for the Cadillac of backpacking cook kits, this is it. Run out of Alcohol? No problem, use sticks. Owned this for a decade. It still looks brand new.

The cook set is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for and this is a fantastic product

Great little stove & very light

ランチを食べる為に　アルコールランプに火をつけて　湯を沸かしたら　上々な沸き具合。燃料は　何処の薬局でも手に入り　気楽に使えるのがベストチョイスだと思います。また　ケース代わりのセットに　ヤカンも五徳も有って凄くお勧めです。トレッキング時にも重宝しています。　皆さんに超お勧め。

いろいろな燃料に使えて、応用が利きそうだったので購入しました。アルコールストーブに関しては他の方のレビューが詳しいので省略。固形燃料で使ってみました。説明書には「上下のスタンドの下段にパワープレートを置きそこに固形燃料を置く」となっていますが、そのようにすると火が遠くて、いつまでたっても沸騰しませんでした。下スタンドだけだと、酸欠で火が消えてしまいます。上スタンドだけを使うと、グラグラ沸騰しました。ポット88g+上スタンド25gの装備なら113gで済みます。私はこの中に、旅館の固形燃料１個、底に敷くためのアルミホイル１片、ライター、スタバのスティックコーヒーを入れて、ハイキング程度には携行しています。山専ボトルを持って行くほどお茶しないかもしれない時でも、とりあえず持っていく気になります。ネイチャーストーブとして、小枝も燃やしてみました。セット全体が炎に包まれ、モクモクと煙があがって大変目立ちます。使用後はチタンが真っ黒けになりショックを受けましたが、洗ったらきれいに落ちました。その他、気に入った点。作りがとても精巧で美しい。壊れそうに薄いチタンのパーツがぴったりはまって、意外に頑丈です。特にハンドルとフタがきっちりピッタリ作られていて、グラグラ動かないので使いやすい。注ぎ口があるので、フタをしたままでもお湯が注げます。（傾けてもフタは外れません）ポットの底には段差がついていて、スタンドがぴったりはまって滑らず、安定感があります。スタンドはただの円筒形ですが、五徳としてコッヘルなどものせやすい。200ccと400ccの目盛りあり。オレンジ色のウエスがついていて、スタンドをそれに包んでポット内に収納するようになっているので、行動中にカタカタ音もなく、傷と汚れも防いでくれます。ちょっとしたことですが、いろいろ気が利いています。

チタン製で軽くコンパクト、薄手の造りですが結構丈夫です。バーナーの内側には30mlと60mlのメモリが入っていて、注入量の目安になります。初めて使うアルコールバーナーですが、火力は強いとは云えません。風の中、友人のEpiガス缶と比べてみましたが、感覚的には2分の1、倍の時間がかかる感じでした。その割には、みるみる燃料は消費して、30mlではお湯を沸かすまでに至りませんでした。＠3000m、外気10度前後にて。収納サイズは缶詰ぐらいの大きさで非常に小さいです。

カップラーメン１個のお湯沸かしには最適です。ポットの持ち手がもう少し長いと使いやすいと思います。
