The Stolevar compact cookware kit is perfect for an emergency kit. First, it is very compact. I comes with all the utensils needed to cook emergency canned goods - frying pan, pot, spoon(1), fork(1), bowls(2), ladle(1), wooden spoon (1) for stirring while cooking and sponge for cleaning. It all fits in a nice bag. The entire kit took very little space in my emergency suitcase. What makes this kit my choice was the size of the pot. The pot is deep enough to easily heat a couple of cups of water. The pots from other vendors are so shallow that you barely get one cup, or the pot is larger taking up a lot of room. In cold weather hot tea is a welcome drink.The kit is designed for one given the utensils but in my opinion you could cook for two in the frying pan and pot. A plus - it fits on my compact emergency stove without unevenness.

I haven't used the set yet since it's destined for my emergency bug-out bag. Very light weight, seems well designed, but you're certainly not going to do any serious cooking in these pans. I like that the whole thing goes in the little black bag, weighs only a few ounces, and is only about 6 inches in diameter. Pretty innovative how they rigged the handles, though they're awfully short and will probably melt if used with a camp fire. I'm going to stick a leather glove in with the set to help with that. Hope I never have occassion to use them, but I bet I'll be glad to have them if I do!

I bought this Camping Cookware Kit as a Christmas gift for my son-in-law. His family is putting together an Emergency kit and this will be a great addition. I was impressed with the various items included in this kit as opposed to others that I reviewed. The handles are longer so they wont be over the campfire and a wooden spatula that won't damage the cooking pans. In addition to bowls, utensils and a cleaning sponge! I think I will order one for my kit so I don't have to wait for Christmas!!(Well thought out Cookware Kit!)

Nothing special about the mess kit, though it is light, has insulated handles, folds up nicely, and comes with actual metal utensils. The really cool bit was the email that came with links to a whole pile of Russian survival skills videos on You-tube. Who knew you could start a fire with a chocolate bar and an aluminum can? No idea what is being said in the ones I watched, as my high school didn't offer Russian... But they are videos, watch and learn.

It is the coolest , well made and compact little cook set. The case it comes it is a perfect fit. My wife has no desire to go camping with me but she absolutely loved the cookware when i showed her, especially the cups and the spatula it came with. I will definitely look for any additional items that pertain to camping that stole at makes. This was the final item needed to complete my bug out big bag.

The kit comes as described. Bought 2. All pieces tuck nice and tight together. Have not used it yet but handles do have insulators on them. I highly recommend this mess kit.
