Works like it should.
Had to use a thin plastic layer between motor shaft and paddle to keep the paddle from sliding off during use. After that fix, working fine.

Solar Tea
I bought one of these about 15 years ago, and went out this year(2012) I knew I needed to find another and for the last several years these are hard to find, lucky I found this within a day of the old going down, Ive made Sun Tea for years, but it takes 4-5 hours, the Solar powered lid only takes about 2-3 hours depending on the outside temperature, it turns the water so you have a flow thru the tea bag, the tea is clearer, letting it sit it becomes cloudy, since the water is moving I tape the string to the outside of my glass jar so the teabags dont get tangled around the paddle, leave the teabags just below the water line at the top, the tea gets hotter quicker also, since its hot the sugar dissolves quicker also, you cant get tea that taste this good from boiling it, and instant tea it has a powdered taste.. well worth the money, Thanks Solar Made products!I purchased this item on May, 2012, now June 2017 Still working Great, I sealed where I thought water may get into, with RTV no issues ,I wasnt worried about a warranty as they are inexpensive, if it goes out the first summer, there is a warranty, take care of it..UPDATE 8-2019 still going, I had bought two lids, one lasted the season est 24 gallons, the seconds one I used RTV so the "steam" dont get in the motor, all good

Great iced tea, but it Doesn’t last long..
It makes great iced tea, but only works a few times before moisture gets in and ruins the electronics. I’m on my 3rd lid.

Not so hot!
This worked great at first and I gave it 5 stars! It started spinning as soon as I set it outside in the sun. Fun to watch the tea brew as I watched.I just purchased a second lid for my wife. When she was cleaning out the tea jar, she accidentally knocked the lid into the running water and that ended it. The solar panel got soaked and no longer functioned. Lesson learned and a new one purchased. The new one was taken care of with caution, and it seems that condensation from the hot outdoors and cool water made its way up into the motor and solar panel after just a few jars. Once more, a dead tea maker. This is just not sealed well. We won't be purchasing another one.

Neat gadget but doesn't always spin
I like that this is solar powered and fits in a glass gallon jug that I already have for sun tea. The drawback is that when the tea bags float at the top, the spinner stops spinning, no matter how sunny it is outside. I wish the paddle was just a little stronger to keep the movement when the tea bags float. Overall though, great product!

Made some great sun tea! While it lasted.
Update July 2019 instead of purchasing a new solar stiring unit, I used A heat gun to remove the top of this one, and replace the motor with one I bought here on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EYJJIPA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and also replaced the solar cell with this one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N2S59T2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) The new solar cell is much better, and the stirrer turns a lot faster. If the motor seizes again I have a spare motor that I bought with the one above and I'll just replace it, much cheaper than buying these things once a year. The solar cell is much better quality than the one they included, and I don't expect it to wear out anytime soon.Update: I bought this in August 2018, it is now June 2019, I have used it once so far in 2019 and tried to use it a second time and the motor is seized solid. Many of the reviews have said it only last for the season or so and that seems to be the case. The little black pad that the solar cell set on seems to be designed to hold water, and I'm not sure what caused the little motor to size Like that, I've ran similar motors in under water toys and They have gotten wet and never seized like this. Trying to decide if I want to buy another one, as I said I like it but only getting one season out of it doesn't seem like such a good deal.Added this to my sun tea jar made some great sun tea in about four hours with one of those gallon sun tea bags. I bought this and one of those stainless steel spigots as upgrades to my current sun tea jar and everything works great!

Great device, brews fast and strong.
Love that I was able to find one of these again. Owned one many years ago and once it broke, I wasn't able to find another... until now.The speed and strength of brew is significantly increased when the water is kept in motion.I didn't want the plastic jar it's sold with so I use it with glass jars purchased separately.Only one downside I've found, but it's a small issue. Of the glass jugs I have, I haven't been able to confidently pick up a full jug by the lid as the fit is a bit loose. Not an issue, just need to remember to support the jug from underneath when picking it up.

Worked well befor dying
Lasted one summer, purchased two years ago this summer (summer of 206). When the unit worked it did a good job. However, for the money the Tea maker is not a bang for the buck kind of product. If your into nostalgia this is the product for you, if not pass on by.
