Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans (25 Beans)

These beans were not good. I used them in a pinch, because I was making 20 dozen vanilla bean scones for a grad party and had run out of my Tahitian beans. These were plumper but did not have the good vanilla smell I am used to. After a few weeks being stored in a cool, dry place they were moldy and gross. Big waste of money. Do not buy.

Well this was my first time buying vanilla and I'll say this isn't what I expected. The product was probably great but it smelled a little off and when I used it in products it didn't give the flavor I was expecting. Now this all may be normal but I'm giving the 2 stars because I packaged it the way it recommended and put in the cabinet bc it says not to refrigerate, and the vanilla molded quickly. So I used maybe 3 bean pods out of like 20 or more and it is all wasted now :(.

I purchased these vanilla beans to make vanilla sugar for my tea business. I followed the directions for storing the unused beans, but the next time I went to make more vanilla sugar, the beans had gotten moldy and could not be used. It was an expensive lesson that I won't repeat.

This is my first time buying vanilla beans, but I think these smell "off". Having never smelled the actual bean I can't be sure, but I purchase only the best 100% extracts and caviar paste for baking, and don't ever recall them smelling quite this strong and chemical smelling. Perhaps I got a bad batch, or maybe it's my own naivety, but I think I'll be trying a different vendor next time. One of the other reviewers mentioned their beans being slimy and that's how mine were as well. There was a fair amount of air in the bag, so they weren't vacuum sealed.

These were absolutely terrible. Both pkgs. were dried out and one pkg was open and retaped. I will never buy from this buyer again. What a waste of money.

I purchased these beans with the intent of making homemade vanilla. I bake A LOT and thought this would be an economical way of always having high quality vanilla on hand. The beans arrived quickly. They were, for the most part dryer than I expected, but that wasn't a big deal. I proceeded to remove several of the beans for use, and immediately wrapped the rest as suggested for storage for later use--triple wrapped in freezer bags, removing excess air. I also placed the package in a large glass jar to further lock out moisture and lock in flavor. Then, I placed the jar in my pantry. I pulled them out to use one for baking and noticed that many of the beans had white fuzz on them. This was only a couple weeks after purchase. I was disappointed by this fact, but cut the white off and repackaged the beans for later use. All in all, a decent product at a decent price, but not sure I'd purchase these again..

I was not impressed with these beans. There were several that were dried out. I still used them, but I feel that I did not get my monies worth as probably 1/4 of them were unusable. Very disappointed

After reading the reviews for these beans I decided to go with them for my homemade vanilla. According to the reviews these beans are very fragrant, moist, and plump. I found the over all fragrance to be ok and most of the beans were moist and plump. I gave them 4 stars because some (about 1/4 of the package) of the beans were small and a little dry.
