Keeping my dog cool in the Texas heat.
I just love the Kool Collar for my Border Collie. We live in Texas and the temperatures are in the high 90s to 100s and the Kool collar is the only thing that has worked to keep my fury baby cool for walks. I had one from last year and this is my 2nd one. I use the 2nd one while the 1st one is drying so I always have one ready to go. This collar on my fur baby lasts about 2-2/1/2 hours with the temperatures between 96 and 98. I can't say enough how much both me and my Border Collie love this collar.

I bought this cool caller in anticipation to help my guide dog
I bought this cool caller in anticipation to help my guide dog. We live in the middle of California known as the San Joaquin Valley. It can reach temperatures of 115 hear, and with him being a black Lab anything above 85 can be tough on him. We've already reached temperatures of 90 and I've used it on him, it really helps him out. When we get back to The house, I'll put a new ice pack in it and it really helps slow down his panting and helps cooling down all round. I really like this thing.

Kool Collars Really Cool!!
These Kool Collars are the most effective at keeping my dogs' necks cool!! The main difference between the Kool Collar and other brands is how the collar is constructed. The Kool Collar has a well-made netting on the inside of the collar that allows the cooling pads to permeate through to the dog's neck. I can also put one cooling pad inside the collar with some crushed ice and the ice melts through the netting and drips onto the dog's neck and chest. [A side note - the collar saved my dog's neck from puncture wounds when a loose dog pounced on her. I checked her neck and it was fine, but the Kool Collar had punctures in it and so did the cooling pads - an unexpected and terrific side benefit!]

I like this product
I like this product, but I think it has room for improvement. The outer material is a thin nylon material and the inner part is mesh. The collar goes warm pretty fast. I use it on my dog when we go on our 30min walks and by the time we get back it has no cool left to it. If the outer material was more insulated and the mesh was more absorbent to hold the cold water melting from the ice I think it would work better. I do think it helps though.

Works great.
These collars are great. My Boxers can overheat quickly in high temps (even in the house; we live in TX). The collar helps keep them cool and comfortable. I have 3 of them so i can quickly switch them out if needed. One note: The fill tubes seem smaller (less liquid?) than the ones I bought from this same company a few years back. Not really an issue just pointing it out if you've bought them before.

Great concept / Poor Product
Collar isn't flexible at all which is an issue when full of ice and loosens as ice melts. The velcro ice loading point has an adhesive on it that will collect direct over time. I originally noticed this at a pet store on their products but thought maybe it was just a bad shipment but once mine arrived it is still very evident.

This product is excellent. The real ice option really helps to keep my dog cooler as she breathes past the ice collar. I periodically run my hands over the melting ice in the collar and spread the cool water to her ears and head. My dog really thinks that she wants to walk no matter what the temperature, but the heat can be too much. While we take all the other precautions, like time of day, shaded routes, etc, this product really makes a difference in her heat tolerance. A bit pricey for the actual materials involved, but worth it for the result.

Simple design and effective
Simple design, but is not long lasting. However, it cools off a short haired dog (in Florida) well when she is overheated. I like to put it on her after agility. Recommend. Keep extra insert frozen when using. You may need it. Dog wears this willingly.
