Whitewater (Rachel Hatch Book 6)

Weakest of the series.
For some reason Ryan decided what this series needs is a lot more introspection; not just by Hatch but by nearly every character in the book. So the action sequences are repeatedly interrupted by the participants’ reflections on how they arrived at this particular juncture, or what their father (mother, sister, cousin, etc.) said to them at some point in the past. This can go on for paragraphs, if not pages, while time is suspended between, say, the instant a trigger is pulled and the instant the bullet leaves the barrel. It gets to be tedious. I haven’t decided yet whether to take a chance on the next installment..

Rachel Hatch takes on a Mexican Cartel to rescue a young girl.
Looking back as we left off where Rachel had successfully fought for the freedom of several girls from a deadly trafficking ring, one of the girls was too frightened to accept the opportunity to escape. Fast forward to present times and Rachel hearing Intel that the red haired victim has been spotted across the border in Mexico about to be sold into slavery. The initial hurdle will be the ability to get into Mexico with no I.D. as she faked her death to protect her family after her last rescue mission. An illegal entry at the mercy of a sleazy border rat is her only option as the clock is ticking. Once she is on the other side, and all alone the gripping and seemingly impossible mission shifts into non stop and death defying high gear. You won't be disappointed with this high octane read and will probably, as I am look forward to the next installment.

Disappointingly poorly written.
Long passages suffer from needlessly poetic language, inconsistent tense, incorrect usage of similar words and even spelling. Poorly constructed sentences and paragraphs required multiple readings for understanding. Every character seemingly had horrible childhood incidences and even the relationship of Hatch and Savage feels overplayed from one book to another in this series.

Another Rachel Hatch Action-Packed, Fast-Paced, Spellbinding Adventure. Enjoy!
The is the 6th of 7 published action-packed adventures in the Rachel Hatch series.I am already well into reading the 7th in this series and can hardly wait for the 8th to be published. While the authors provide some background in each book in this series I recommend that they be read in order to fully enjoy the development of the characters and plot.Rachel Hatch is a flawed character who is driven by her father’s murder, the life lessons he taught her, and the horrors of war. Her accomplishments and skills are extraordinary. In the previous two books, she reconnected with her mother and developed a relationship with her murdered sister’s children, but had to fake her own death to protect those she loved from a clandestine company of mercenary killers responsible for her father and sister’s death.Following in her father’s pledge to help good people and punish bad people she is looking to rescue a young lady who was kidnapped by human traffickers and sold to a Mexican cartel.During that seemingly impossible mission, she pays a Mexican Coyote to smuggle her into Mexico and deals with a variety of powerful lowlife scum of the earth criminals and makes friends with several special people who share her desire to rescue the unfortunate and make their perpetrators pay. This is another action-packed, fast-paced, entertaining tale that was hard to put down and kept me up in the wee hours of the morning absorbed in this spellbinding series.Enjoy!

Best Hatch book yet!
This is a page turner! From the get go-you are in for the ride of your life. Hatch is a woman of her word and she’s in the Devil’s territory keeping it. She’s up against cartels who are dealing in human trafficking and for the first time in her life, is captured. Is it her end? Totally worth the read!

The One Left Behind
Although Hatch completes the task she set out to perform, all did not go well. One girl was left behind and she wastes no time in returning to search for the red-headed girl. This takes her across the border into Mexico, but being on the run already, there's no way she can cross the border using normal methods. It's not the best solution, but Hatch allows herself to be smuggled into the country so she can continue the search. It doesn't take long to discover that the legal system is as corrupt as the smugglers and will be of no help to her.Fortunately, there are a few honest people to be found who are willing to put their lives on the line as she attempts to save the girl she left behind.

Could not put it down
I read the first six books of this series as one novel because I could not stop myself. There is so much action, mystery and excitement that I just had to keep reading, like a 12 year old glued to Nancy Drew. Hatch is quite a character and I would love to see her in a movie or TV series. I also wish LT Ryan would write additional stories focusing on human trafficking because so many people are oblivious to the scope of this crime and it's detrimental results. Slavery exists in 2021, and the world needs to know this.

Good, But Not as Fast Paced as some in the series
Rachel Hatch is addictive.Hatch is not a woman to give up and heads to trouble with no hesitation.Hatch sets out in relentless pursuit to save the one that got away. She finds herself surrounded by a collection of nasty Mexican enemies and the price for keeping her promise.... Which might just cost Hatch her life.Hatch will not back down from a promise, in her last adventures Hatch saved and brought back to her home one girl, but here returns for the girl that got away, and could not save.Hatch heads for danger as always doing the good, putting her life as risk.A well paced thriller, staying at the same pace throughout, not quite as exciting as some of the books in this series, but you still have to love the character, a strong woman.Four star book, as slightly lacked the great action and thrilling pace of previous books.

Repeat
Only 4stars almost brilliant but again like so many others you let the hero slip, fall,or be caught before the final episode where they win.Hatch supposed to be exemplary in what she does checks things out yet she gets to get place to rid if viper and slips hope next book is not same as this one.
