It forms an 11" x 22" oval. Pretty small cake. Some people have put on a cake. You also might look at rhe Scout train from Wowtoyz. It's about a 24" circle. Google it to see videos and order info.

The largest car is about 3" long. It is smaller than a narrow gage and it is mostly plastic. That said, it runs well and my 4 y o grandson loves it!

I have not seen any way. That would be nice though, to expand the set a bit.
