Learn Korean – The Language Workbook for Beginners: An Easy, Step-by-Step Study Book and Writing Practice Guide for Learning How to Read, Write, and ... Inside!) (Elementary Korean Language Books) Review: Wonderful learning tool! - Just starting out in my journey of learning Korean and this book is so helpful! I love that it shows you some of the different styles of writing, and has places in the book to practice on! I personally don’t like to write in books like that (can’t use it again if you do!), so I purchased a Korean practice notebook and they make a great pair! It also tells you the sounds the letters make and different grammar rules! Review: Beginning Korean - This book is useful for learning the basics of the Korean language. It takes you through the alphabet and has worksheets for you to complete as you’re grasping more of the language. For the alphabet it gives you examples of the sound it makes as well as common uses for each letter. In later worksheets it goes over common phrases and also gives a vocabulary list for you to expand your knowledge. Overall it’s useful to practice writing and learning the Korean language as a starting point for a beginner.

Good for reading and writing only
Very good for writing practice and learning words, not as good for pronunciation, but that is normal for workbooks.

Good learning book
It came to me new. I ordered this book cuz I was recommended to buy it for my Korean class. It did help me with learning the basic letters and vocabulary. Although my Korean teacher was there to help us understand the language more and how to pronounce the letters and everything.

But it!
I love this book. I especially love the quizzes. It really is the same as a regular English language book, learning to read and write your alphabets for the first time.

Best book I've found so far for learning Hangul
This is the best book I've found for learning Hangul so far. I like the explanations of the pronunciation changes as well as the different styles of writing each letter. There were a couple of typos and things that confused me, but this is a first edition and mistakes happen. I still think it deserves five stars and I hope Jennie Lee writes more Korean books, especially for grammar! p. 23 romanization for achim is wrong p. 25 romanization for keopi is wrong p. 27 final sound for ㅊ should be t not ch (repeated in flashcard at end of book) p. 29 romanization for sigdang is wrong p. 51 diphthong misspelled a few times p. 53 second word does not include ㅒ but rather ㅐ p. 59 syllables at bottom show romanization including w, but syllable charts on p. 125 do not p. 62 chair includes subject marker -ga p. 78 gyeobbatchim 겹받침 spelled wrong in Hangul p. 79 throughout the final consonants section, sample words don't include romanization like the other sections p. 102 light gray color for table rows makes it hard to read romanization

Best Korean Language Book for Beginners
This book is absolutely the best I've come across for beginning learners of Korean. It mainly covers in great detail everything you need to know about the Hangul writing system and how to build your foundation of learning the language from there. It will be an indispensable tool for any new student of Korean.

Only for the alphabet
I didn't know that it's only for learning how to read and write the alphabet. The good think is that you have pre-cut cards for every letters. There are few explanations to understand how to form the syllable. And it's a mostly a notebook to train to write. And that's pretty much it.
