Highly anticipated and long awaited 2013 album from the British Alt-Rock icons led by the esteemed Kevin Shields. MBV is the follow-up to their genre-defining 1991 album Loveless. Since reuniting in 2007, Shields and Co. have been promising a new album but in typical MBV fashion, it took years for this release to finally emerge, originally via the band's label and website, to unanimous praise.

Great music for crying, doing drugs, or both
Someone made fun of my man bun so I popped this album in my walkman and Instagrammed myself crying. Got a great response, 10/10 would recommend.

One of the best comeback albums ever
Let’s start off by saying Loveless by mbv is my favourite album ever. And isn’t anything is probably my favourite debut album of all time as well. So I’m a pretty big fan of mbv and was wanting to love this album. But at first I was kinda taken back by how low-fi and weird some of the songs were. I have to say upon first listen I kind of admired this album more than actually liked it. But after listening to it a few more times, i really came to appreciate how great it really is. If you’re more a fan of their early stuff than you are of Loveless, I’m not sure if this album is for you, but if you love Loveless and albums like Kid A, I think you’ll love this. A great album, and as fantastic a comeback as we could ask for.

New MBV...finally!
I am a relative late-comer to MBV; I've only known about them (and been a huge fan) since I heard "Sometimes" in the sondtrack of the movie "Lost in Translation" around 2004. However, since they hadn't produced any new albums since 1991 (Loveless), I had real doubts there would ever be anything new. I mean "Loveless" was such an out-of-the-box peerless master-work of a record, I thought that maybe we would all have to be content that this was the pinnacle of what we could expect from MBV. Nearly the whole time I've been aware of them there have been rumors of something new coming, but the years passed and...nothing. Until now! I was excited when I saw that this new album, "mbv," was available, and did not hesitate to pay the high import price for it. After listening a few times, I am very happy to find that "mbv" is really still undeniably MBV! I mean the moment I heard the first fuzzy chord of "She Found Now," I said yes, they're back...finally. This is not to say they haven't changed at all; that would not be really possible, or desirable either, I think. With Loveless, MBV found their stride, and with "mbv," they have refined their sound even more, and it's absolutely wonderful, in my opinion. So much so, the ablum seems to end too quickly at just over 46 minutes. The good thing, though, is that when it ends, I can't wait to hear it again...Thanks to Kevin Shields, Belinda Butcher, Colm O'Closoig, and Deb Googe for a great follow up to "Loveless."

I waited twenty plus years for this...
My bloody valentine is one of my favorite bands. Kevin Shields changed my listening habits for years and altered how I approached playing guitar. I own everything they have put out, and I have been listening to this on YouTube until it became affordable here in the US. There is no new ground covered here, but if you like the band, you will like this.

Vinyl sounds great
Great sounding vinyl. When this first came out i listened to it on my computer and struggled with some tracks. There's a few songs that are just short loops of music looping for long periods of time. They're not my favorite. But on vinyl, for some reason I didn't think about these songs as much, they blended into the whole experience. The Vinyl jacket comes with a pouch for the CD (included) to sit in.

A great follow-up to Loveless.
MBV's comeback album is just as good as their previous records. It has a different vibe, it's a bit more modern, yet overall the tones and textures will instantly remind you of the band that took a vacation after Loveless. This one is fairly cohesive all the way through. The sounds are a bit different, and though it doesn't always hit that Loveless quality, it has good dynamics and sounds really good overall. It's definitely up there with Isn't Anything for their second best LP. I would not hesitate to buy this one and support the band. I surely hope they have another album at some point.

some good stuff!
ok. at first i was nervous, long time MBV fan so I had to try, I didn't like the first 3-4 songs! BUT at song 6 I got interested, and then it kept up! Its like the album was reversed long drawn out boring at the beginning cool stuff at the end!? There was some new energy and enough new hooks to be new and interesting but yes still mbv. THANK gosh I still can't understand anything sung lol might look for some on vinyl

Worth the wait... hopefully they are working on yet another one
I think I like this album at least as much as I like “Loveless”, maybe even more so... the fact that I have listened to “Loveless” one million and one times since its release in 1991 might be influencing my current thinking though. I am wearing this album out the same way I wore that one out...Much love.

I don't think this is as good as Loveless, but it still has some very good tracks on it.

Although there are no real standout tracks a la Loveless, time has been kind to MBV. Well worth a listen.
