Magson Produces Another Winner in the Harry Tate Series
I am writing back to back reviews today, of the three "Harry Tate" novels which I have now completed. (All rated 5 stars by the way) Often, in a series, one finds the plots becoming tired--NOT SO with Harry Tate. I am now totally hooked on this series and have started his fourth book "Retribution". "Deception" picks up where "Tracers" ended, with delivery of a duplicitous Iraqi back to Baghdad to face his comeuppance. Then Harry and Rik are hired to find an Army Lt. who went Absent Without Leave (AWOL) who has extremely vital and valuable information which could do great harm to Britain and other allied forces in Afghanistan and around the world. As an added incentive the traitorous Paulton who attempted to have Harry and Rik killed in "Red Station" is in the mix and adds danger to the quest to find the AWOL Lieutenant. Another intriguing and gripping tale. I encourage readers in the US to read an Adrian Magson novel and pass the word that here is an author well worth reading.

Walkers
Harry and his friend Rik ( computer genius) were given the task of finding British personnel that had walked away from the intelligence world and we're now trying to sell their information of the British Government to the top bidder. What Harry Tate and Rik run into is an organized group who were trying to collect all the "walkers" to extract information from them and then eliminate them. The big threat came when they found that Harry's old boss who was an MI6 Operator was running the organized group, when he himself had disappeared. Exciting, lots of action, lots of twists and turns and deception from the boss who was directing him now.

Boring
This is my third Harry Tate thriller and it shall be my last. Sorry. Repetitive and sloppy. All these British renegades and traitors in sensitive positions, and our two heroes living to tell another tale. It is not clear what they actually live on by the way.

Adrian has written a series of fun books about a background cover for other operatives in the field - he frequently saves their backsides...and neat series of a couple of turned out agents who eventually get back at their nemesis - the ones who pushed them into the cold.

Magson does it again
I am becoming another Magson book fan. The author has a good plot well within the bounds of reasonable belief. The language differs from many American novels with the fact that it is written by an English author who writes the tale English in its purity and understandable style. As an Australian I do appreciate novels composed by other than British, I would consider the novels written by Michael Connelly et al (for example) as excellent but not as clear and open to me as natural good English!

A very enjoyable new find for me
Amazon convinced me to buy Execution in this series and I was hooked. A definite high quality series of thrillers with believable plots and well developed characters. The portrayal of Harry is particularly good, he is believable and real as are the other players in all of the books. A very enjoyable series and great fun to find out this author has written many more books.

Good read
On assignment, trying to find an organization that catered to military deserters. Trying to get to the one person who had made his life miserable.

DECEPTION by Adrian Magson is a terrific British spy novel.
I have just finished reading all the Harry Tate books, and I really, really like them. The books are spy thrillers filled with unique characters. The locations are all over the map, and invite me to visit them, to see places I have never been -- except Iraq and Afghanistan, which I will just read about.Adrian Magson spells tire with a "y" and I still don't know what a "saloon car" is, but this only makes me want to read more of his writing. That, plus the fast, intriguing and continuing story line and characters in DECEPTION are exactly right in this book.

Another winning thriller
Having recently discovered the author, I am having great pleasure working my way through his books.Harry Tate is back here, working as a tracker for the intelligence services. Soldiers are going AWOL and those with military information are being sought by an organisation of ex-soldiers in order to sell that intelligence. Harry is brought in to track down a female officer who may have had access to the biggest secrets of them all, can he find her before the bad guys do?Nothing is what it seems and old friends and foes make an appearence to complicate things...It is all very well having a good set of characters but you need clever plots to work around them, and this one is very clever and I am surprised nobody has done it before. Mr Magson continues to impress, as does Harry Tate.

Another great read
After the first three books in this series Harry Tate's character has really grabbed me. The books are fast paced and very well written. The type of book you can read and lose awareness of where you are. A definite keeper. I will be upset when I have read the last n the series.
