Collected Works of Maxim Gorky

I enjoy reading this on my kindle before bed and at lunch. Good stories.

The book contains substandard translations; but given the price you should be able to get your monies worth. I would not recommend it for first time Gorki readers.

The writing is of course dated but none the less enjoyable. I am gradually working my way through the classic Russian authors and find this one of the more accessible. I haven't finished the entire work yet, they seem to expect people to have nothing else to do but read with these reviews.

I got this specifically to read My Childhood and it doesn't include it. This is very far from being a comprehensive collection.

One of my favourite books ever

Deceptive title.Purchased it for Gorky's play The Philistines....which isn't included!

Good reading.
