Frustating customization. Commercial place refused installation. Customer installation satisfactory
Trying to have this installed. Most commercial users have a smooth surface. the dimpled surface serves no utilitarian purpose and it makes it hard to customize it with exterior gauges or other connections. Very frustrating. For run of the mill straight use it would be OK, I suppose.A commercial place refused the liability to install this tank. This is what I did:I planned to support this tank on 2 each of 2" x 6". I cut the 2 x 6 to the length of the tank. I painted the 2 x6s white. I then drilled the 2 x 6 after checking below the bed of the trcuk for clear places to drill the holes for the bolts. I considered using heavy duty springs to absorb the vibration and bouncing but decided against it. I believed I used 3/8 diameter bolts, 4 each, one each at each end of each 2 x 6 about 75% of the length of the board at each end. I countersunk the bolt head at each location, with sufficient space to be able to use a socket wrench. Now the boards and the bed were pre-drilled. I used three 400# ratchet cargo straps under the boards to wrap around the tank. On the boards, I placed the rubber pads provided with the tank. On top of the tank, I used double-sided tape to protect the straps from chafing.I also placed a tank lenghtwise ratchet cargo strap of 1200# capacity towards the truck cab end of the tank, under the boards to go over the tank.I tightened the bolts (with help) placing two nuts from the other side on each bolt. I placed the tank ontop of the boards, tightening the cargo straps around it. I placed the 90 degree gravity feed adapter and valve, and connected to the gravity fuel hose - installed previously and hole drilled in appropriate location.About a year after installation, the truck was involved in a four-vehicle crash. The tank installation restrained the tank and there was no loss of fuel. Will proceed with fuel sender customization and report on this board. Good luck with your installation.

poor quality
I bought this in June.a few weeks ago I notice a crack most of the way around the weld for threaded receiver for the pump.living in western Washington it wasn't long before the diesel left in the tank was contaminated with water.and the rest of aluminum around the weld broke free and the pump was completely detached from the tankI've contacted RDS and sent pics. I seem to be getting a run around.I will update this either way when it has been resolved.

Great aux fuel tank
This is a great aux fuel tank for my 2016 F450. I can go well over 1000 miles before having to refuel now. That allows me to shop for the lower priced fuel.
