We have an outdoor light designed for a 150watt bulb with a ballast. I removed the ballast and wired directly to the E39 light socket.The light worked fantastic. I knew this bulb would be slightly dimmer than the 150 watt mercury vapor bulb but it was still very bright and illuminated our 1/3 acre back yard very well. It has been in service for quite a while now and works perfectly. Love it!

I feel like these are about a 250w equivalent light output for a traditional filament bulb. No complaints, great light for my garage, with all nooks & crannies lit up! I would recommend for any workshop, garage, or even a street light. Instant "on" is awesome!

Good lamps, bright as advertized, have had them in service for a few months, no early failures. and clearly better than metal halide lamps we replaced.

One bulb lights up my entire garage instantly. Much better than CFL, which took 30 seconds to reach full strength in the winter.

Expensive but very bright, the light is large and if you have the room in your fixture it will provide a large amount of light.

Replaced 200w halogen bulbs in my garage with these 40 watt LEDs, absolutely amazing!!!! I cannot comment on the longevity as I have had them for only a couple weeks, but I would buy again in an instant!!! Beautiful clarity and brightness. Perfect mix of lumens and k value.
