There is an after and before in my kitchen with this product. The quality is excellent; my knives are really sharpened. Before Whetsone I never care about cooking or not because using my knives were a nightmare. Even by using the handheld sharpener ones that make some dents in your knife. Now, cooking with my sharpened knives is a different experience. I really recommend it.The funny thing is that there is another product with similar features, but it is more expensive than this one and the anti-slippery rubber is not included.

Works well. Not sure you'll get your knives sharp enough to shave with with this stone, but perhaps its my technique that could use some sharpening. This stone is for well-cared-for knives. If you're hoping to renew your severely abused or neglected knives and you don't have the patience of Job, start with an electric sharpener for a rough cut before moving to this stone for a final finish.

I have no hair on my arms now...I look like a serial killer with very sharp metal...Everything is razor sharp in the house...Would buy again!Not good for harder steels, they are too hard and will wear this out too fast from my experience.

Very nice stone. I bought 2 different stones. The 400/1000 and the 3000/8000 stones. using both makes short work of getting a razor edge.

Great stone. 3000 grit on one side 8000 on the other.A short amount of time spent on each side will give you a razor sharp edge.

There are stones that don't need soaking, but this one needs ten minutes or so in the water. Still, it does a fine job. Other stones are much more expensive.

Great whetstone I use this stone for my straight razor and it is phenomenal I would recommend it to anyone.

Great stone, give a superb edge but it does wear out fast. For the price? I may order another
