Kill Devil Hill

I've been a Hip-Hop and Gangster Rap listener my whole life, Never gave any other music the time of day due to my lack of interest but mainly I was just plain stubborn. This year I turned 30 and decided to expand my preference in music, my brother listens to all kinds of rock and metal so I decided what the heck? Besides, I was already getting tired of the same bullshit lyrics in Rap music it was getting old. So anyways I'm browsing around and stumble into this album by Kill Devil Hill and I must say...WOW! What a great way to break into metal although in my opinion its more of a good solid rock album, I can listen to every single song on this CD (except Mysterious Way, sounds too pop) and never get bored of it. This was the first rock album I've purchased and so far so good! This is a great band with good lyrics and the lead singer delivers very impressive soothing vocals that fit perfectly with every tune. So it's a wrap! I'm officially a metal fan and won't ever look back!

It's a pretty good record, it's not pantera. If you want pantera, buy pantera!!!

I was a grunge rock musician but have never lost sight there is something good about all music. Now that I am starting a radio show, I have discovered Metal like I never knew before. And I love Kill Devil Hill. Metal with soul, tenacity and melodies, well- written lyrics and a wall of sound that will nail you to a cross. They look the part and yet you can see in their eyes the heart that can draw a rebellious grunge rocker to heavy Metal.

Proof that a bunch of old guys can still whip the crap out of these young punk "metal" bands. Classic, old school, heavy metal. No gimmicks, no BS, just straight up, kick you in your teeth metal. This album would've been gold 10, 15 years ago, and will be gold 15 years from now. Unbelievable effort by these guys!

Initially I didn't think this was as good as the KDH debut album, but some months later I'm thinking it may be better. Sort of a bit more mature, more thought out song writing, great sequencing of songs, great chops and riffs, blah, blah, blah. Check it out. It's not Pantera, but why should it be? How could it be? It's great hard/heavy rock!

Been really watching to see what Vinnie Appice was going to do since the death Of Ronnie James Dio and the obvious demise of Heaven & Hell. Well he knocked one outta the park with this project. Man what a kick ass band, what a kick ass release! Can't wait for more stuff from these guys!

I have nothing bad to say about this CD or this Band. Rex Brown and Vinny Appice leading the rhythm section. Call me a loyalist, but anything that includes members of the greatest metal band ever (Pantera) is ok in my book. Can't wait for the follow up

I actually started with Revolution Rise. Which I LOVE! I liked it so much I had to check this one out too! Man, it's great from the opening track all the way out. Just great stuff by a REALLY great band....

Good songs but not great, best song is the single "STRANGE". Get ready for Texas Groove metal & alternate Hard Rock .

Love this album.

We know Rex is the man but the band work well together and have given us a truly great cd and it is refreshing to hear some new tunes that get your head nodding.
