SOLID PERFORMER, BUT WITH ONE ANNOYING DESIGN FLAW
Works great. I set this up in my garage rafters (roughly 12' off the ground) and it's easy to control especially when set up in a double-line pull configuration.... nice and slow and easy to modulate the lift or lowering process. The obvious problem is that the cable supports a 19' lift (double line config) but the controller cable is only 5 FEET LONG!!!!...... yes, you heard that right. I have to stand directly under the hoist and stretch way up in the air to reach the controller, which puts me right in the way of the work I'm trying to do.Ultimately, I was able to buy an additional length of 16AWG/4 conductor wire that was a perfect match and now the controller has a nice LONG wire that can be positioned anywhere I want it, and I can stand a comfortable and safe distance from the lifting area. Overall I can't complain at this price point... (even factoring in the extra $30 in wire I had to buy). It does a nice job and makes my projects much easier.One final point: If you mount this to a round section of 2" diameter tube, the brackets will still give you just enough free play that you can slide the unit along the tube to get your cable aligned directly over the top of the items you want to lift. I used about a 4' section of thick-walled DOM tubing as part of my mounting system. It makes the unit even more useful and flexible.

Hooked everything up today.so far working great. day 4 really impressed on how strong the Hoist is does a great job lifting my family member. No more messing with the floor hoyer no more struggling with my back happy happy happy

Excellent motors. Have bought two of these
Excellent motors. Have bought two of these, and very happy with their performance. I have them 35 feet in the air and rewired the controller for remote control. If anyone needs a diagram I will be happy to provide.

Great for the price paid
Ordered this hoist and it was on my door step in 3 days. I use it to lift the front of my Scag 48" Tiger Cub mower so I can wash under the deck. I also use it to lift the brush hog for blade sharping. It works perfectly. This is not a deal breaker, and maybe shouldn't even mention it, but the only part I would note in a negative way is the yellow hand held control piece. The on-off and up-down buttons seem really cheap and hopefully won't fail in the future. The hoist itself seems to be able to last a lifetime, but not the controls.

I purchased this lift to lift my 47 year old son into the bathtub from a wheelchair using barn door track and rollers it works great and looks good. I saved over a thousand dollars instead of buying fabricated lifts. Great purchase.

Great product, great value
Saw a lot of mixed reviews on Amazon for this and similar products. We got this product and it was used to dryway walls and ceilings for a 36 x 64 building with studio....worked great, no complaints and the cost was much lower than renting one for a month of sundays!

Sturdy Lift
Right out of the box, it reminded me of my more expensive lift used during my last home renovation. The $160 price point is pretty good.Lifting 70 lb sheets of drywall is easy, though the lift feels a bit unsteady at when extended to the ceiling. I've played with the leg arrangement, but it's still important to consider orientation before loading the panel.I've already managed to overextend a foot break, but all in all, it's a good lift for the money.
