DO NOT SIT ON THE SIDE RAILS!!!
Absolutely love these cots! We have the matching mattress pads too. I get a better night sleep on this cot then I do at home in my nice bed. I am a 60 year old, not very athletic, chubby woman. I set both cots up by myself. Hubby sets up his kitchen stuff and everything else. After reading many other reviews I have a few pointers as this is our 4th year of many trips with these cots. First and foremost, DO NOT SIT ON THE SIDE RAILS!!! It says this in the info book but apparently people are still doing it. Second, as soon as you open the box, find those plastic end caps and glue them in place with some E-6000. They constantly fall out and will get lost unless you do. When they do fall out, they leave very sharp edges of metal exposed. Lastly, make sure when you first unfold the cot, before ever trying to put on the end bars, that the cot material is well centered. Other wise it will be in the way at one end and not stretch far enough at the other end to allow assembly. I also bought the Teton "foot" covers to help protect the tent floor. We have a Core tent and have not had any problems with the cots making holes in the floor. People mentioned that the bags are flimsy. I'd rather the money go into the cot itself then the bag. That being said, many times using and not gently handling, neither of my bags has any tears. The little Velcro straps are still attached. The cots fit well in the bag and there are no little pieces warranting a zipper with which to contain them. I am 5'7" just under 200lbs and hubby is 6'1"and about 240 and we have no complaints. There is no sagging and no metal bars to feel underneath you. The bed is plenty wide and long. It is a little hard for me to get out of but not like I'm stuck in it, remember, don't sit on the side rail. Sometimes I roll on my side and put my foot over the edge and on the floor and get out that way. Ok final note, I have had a couple of the screws come loose. I bought a half dozen sets of screws and nuts, just in case. 4 years of use and still going strong! Love my cots. If they do ever break, I'll be replacing them with the same.

Just What I Needed! Very Sturdy!
I prefer to primitive camp and I typically camp wherever I am when it starts getting dark. For 16 years I lived in Utah and camped in the back of my pickup, an average of two nights a week for all those years, on an air mattress and a tarp over a PVC frame over the bed of my truck. I've camped comfortably in all kinds of weather with that setup. The air mattresses seem to start leaking air after about two or three uses and that was always a problem. I'm in Florida now and since it is winter, the perfect time to camp in Florida, I have been camping out again. Instead of an air mattress, I tried using two layers of 2" memory foam but I still feel the steel bed of my pickup and It is very uncomfortable. I decided to look for a cot and I found Teton Sports Outfitter XXL camping cot. I'm a big guy and this looked perfect. The price looked a little bit high but not out of reason. I ordered the cot and when I set it up, I was amazed at just how big it is! I'm 6'3" tall and 300+ pounds. The cot is 40" wide and sits 19" above the ground. It is long enough that my head and my feet don't hang off either end. It fits in the bed of my Ford F-150 with the tailgate down with about 6 or 8 inches to spare. It fills up most of the bed of my truck but does give me some room on the side to get in and out of the cot. I am always armed when I camp which I think, and hope, most people are. Some people were running their dogs about midnight, probably hunting deer and I heard some gunshots in the Ocala National Forest after I had gone to bed so I laid my AR-15 on one side of the cot and still had plenty of room to get a good night's sleep. I've had back problems for almost 40 years and I don't sleep well anywhere but I got a pretty good night's sleep on the cot and I think it would be very comfortable for most big people. I bought a 3" memory foam topper with a zippered cover for a twin XXL bed and it fit the cot perfectly. What did I not like about the Teton Sports Outfitter XXL Camping Cot? This morning when I got ready to fold the cot up, the top and bottom rails have plastic end caps. Two of those caps had come out. I found one and popped it back in but was unable to locate the second end cap, even in the white sand that surrounded my pickup at my camping spot. I contacted Teton Sports by email and I left a phone message. We'll see how they respond but if their response is anything like the quality of this cot, I'm sure they'll get a new plastic end cap to me in the mail soon. The only other thing that I had difficulty with was putting the cot into the bag that it comes equipped with. The bag is a great idea since I carry the cot in the back of my pickup over the highway and very rough four wheel drive roads to get my camping spots. If the bag was one inch longer, it would sure make inserting the cot much easier. The small red lever that helps get the top rail in place is a nifty little addition. Overall, this is a GREAT cot and worth every penny I spent on it and I highly recommend it. I will be spending lots of time camping on it and I'm sure this cot will outlive me. I will purchase the rifle sleeve and accessories sleeve that fit on each side of the cot. We will also be using the cot for our three year old grandson when he is sleeping over. GREAT JOB TETON SPORTS!!!

STURDY, COMFORTABLE AND PRICED FAIRLY
Without getting into the details of why, I bought this Keton cot as a bed to sleep on every night in a 16' X 12' Cabin (with heat and air conditioning). I purchased the largest cot, since I am 6' 2" and weigh 240 lbs. Without exaggeration, I can truthfully say that this cot is the most comfortable thing that I have ever slept on in my life. Even the mattresses that I have purchased for my bed in the past or air mattresses that I have gotten for camping, were not as comfortable. I have always liked a firm, but not too firm of a mattress. This cot satisfied that for me. I did not purchase the Teton mattress, mainly because of complaints about them being too thin. I read one review where the person purchased two of them to get more thickness and comfort. Because of that, I had planned on buying a thicker foam mattress from a store in town, but in the meantime, I had to sleep on it, so I laid two sleeping bags on top of each other and laid down on those. I covered myself with a regular blanket. Wow! It was just right for me. The cot is constructed in such a manner that the strong cot material when stretched out by the cot frame is taunt, but it gives just enough stretch from my body weight to make it soft enough for me, while also remaining firm enough. I have slept on it for 3 months now, in cold and hot weather, and I am not lying when I say that I don't even want to get up, because I am so comfortable laying in the thing. As far as the construction of the cot and the room that it affords, I would give it a strong thumbs up. I love the rubber shock absorbers in the leg sections. That was a nice and needed feature. I read some complaints about the plastic caps falling off of the legs and getting lost, so I just used some black Gorilla tape to tape them on. The black color of the tape blends in with the black frame, so it is hardly noticeable, and those caps aren't going anywhere now. I have owned many things in my life that has similar caps that fall off, but they can always be glued, taped or screwed on. It is definitely easy to set up, just mind you fingers that they don't get pinched in the joints of the frame (I learned that the hard way, LOL). My only complaint would be that the end rails stick out past the side rails, and I walk into them with my leg sometimes. I am not sure why they need to extend past the side rails that much. Other that, I am good with it. In regard to the cost of this cot, it is worth every penny. I am well pleased with this purchase and will probably buy another one soon for my wife. All-in-all, I am going to give it a 5-star review. I hope this review helps those looking for a good sturdy cot.

Outta the box set up, product quality appearance
A follow up review will be posted once this cot is packed in and used in the field. This was purchased for multi use situations. The cot will used with the XXL tent, A Lawson Hammock and stand alone. Initially outta the box, you can tell right off that this cot is quality, well made and heavy duty. It took me about 7 to 8 minutes to set it up. Mostly because I was using caution during the last two steps, so as to not damage any of the materials by mishandling them or assembling it incorrectly. Following the included instructions as well as some youtubeage vids, it went together rather well. I can see why the bed was redone with the adage of the “arm assist” mech. Without a doubt, it would have been slightly more difficult to finish the assembly. Now, once assembled, it leaves you with no doubt that this cot is well built and heavy duty. My wife and I both were able to lie on it together and the quality is felt and gives you a sense of security. We both moved around on the bed without much effort and tried several sleeping positions and were as comfortable on this cot as we would be in our bed. We prefer a firm mattress so this cot was good for us. Alone on the cot, I had ample room to relax and spread out. At close to 6’1”, I had no issues of being cramped and I didn’t touch either end of the cot. I then tried moving towards the side edges and actually attempted to topple it. I could not in any way topple the bed by weighting it down along its edges. The stretched canvas bed is very comfortable and allows me to relax and move around comfortably and quietly. I like the quality vs price for this cot. Now I believe this cot was made for campers to bring in by some sort of vehicle mode because it is after all 25+ lbs. I intend on lashing it to my Teton 5500 backpack and trekking it into our remote camp area for use. Check back periodically for the follow up review for field usage. Overall review w/o field usage : 4 stars for now Comfort : no hesitation, 5 stars Sturdiness : again, no hesitation, 5 stars Sleep quality : for now 4 stars just by judgement, inasmuch I have not slept on it but I could definitely fall asleep on it and without a doubt will be 5 stars unless something weird occurs. So, initially I have no qualms of my purchase because of the quality. My thoughts/feelings once set up, I love it and mostly because of the quality materials and then second the comfort. You should not be disappointed with the purchase. ***Ok so this has been used on several camps and was only used on 1 (one) remote camp, inasmuch the cot is bulky and rather heavy to pack into the field. I still give it 4 stars and the cot is awesome and I like it a lot. I packed it in on a remote camp about 4 or 5 miles in. I wouldn’t do it again on that particular camp due to the extremely hilly terrain and the up and down walking. It has been used on other camps where it was brought to the site via a vehicle. I thoroughly enjoyed the cot and would recommend it to anyone but be advised that you had better be in very good shape to pack it in and out of remote areas. Taking it in via vehicle is highly recommended and you’ll enjoy it much more.

An Exceptional Product from an Exceptional Company
I purchased this cot after seeing numerous others with the same cot. I previously used what I considered a large cot, a Texsport KING KOT with the dimensions of 83 x 35 x 20. While this one is not much larger, the construction is much better. The Texsport cot was plagued by creaking whenever I turned over, moved, or shifted a little. This isn't a major issue except it tends to bother others in the area that are trying to get some sleep while camping. The Teton Sports Outfitter XXL Camping Cot, on the other hand, is rock solid. I used it recently and slept out under the stars surrounded by a large group of younger Boy Scouts. While I still turned over frequently, the only sound you could hear was the rustle of the bedding and the sound of the wind through the tress. Not a single creak or noise from the cot. The extra space didn't seem like a lot in comparison, but in practice it made a notable difference in maneuverability while sleeping. I never once bumped into the rails. The surface was exceedingly comfortable and allowed for a night's sleep equitable to my bed at my house. I recently had surgery which made sleeping difficult, in general, and almost impossible while camping. However, the space afforded by the cot allowed me to position myself in ways that maximized comfort and significantly decreased any pain or soreness. The cot is exceedingly easy to set up. Anyone with prior experience with a cot should be able to set it up in less than a minute. The inclusion of a red pivot arm allows for that always difficult last connection of the end rail to be as easy as the very first connection. The bag that came with mine opened along the long edge and allows for easy removal and replacement for storage. The unit is heavy, but it is expected with the construction and sturdiness that you receive. If there is any negative that can be found with the cot is that it would be nice if the cot came with a couple straps to wrap around the collapsed unit when putting it away. As it currently stands, you have to ensure you have a good grip around the entire unit when putting it away. With a couple straps that wrap around the folded up cot, it would be a simple proposition to pick up and place in the bag. The legs could easily accommodate the addition of a Velcro strap (or preferably 2) riveted to them or they could include two straps with the product. I will likely purchase some cheap lashing straps with adjustable clips to secure the cot when taking it down. It is a small issue and not worthy of reducing the rating. But, it is a suggestion for improvement for an exceptional product that would require minimal cost to the manufacturer and would enhance the experience for the end consumer. It is a very good product and I highly recommend it for those interested in having a premier sleeping experience when camping in close proximity to parking. It is unlikely useful for locations requiring hiking for more than 1/2 mile as the weight would be problematic for some. I also highly recommend the addition of the TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Camping Pad and Quick Tent for use with this product. They combine to make a very pleasant camping experience with fast and easy set-up and tear down allowing you to enjoy the outdoors without spending a large amount of time getting things set up or putting everything away.

Best and most comfortable cot I ever owned!
I searched a long time for something to sleep on that was better than an air mattress and I'm so glad I found this cot! I can't afford a real bed and every air mattress I slept on eventually developed an air bubble in it right where my back was which was very uncomfortable. Not to mention losing air over time. This cot is about the size of a twin bed but maybe a little longer. My feet don't even hang off of it. There's plenty of room. I bought two 3" memory foam toppers to put on it along with my sleeping bag and sheet and it's just as comfy as a real bed now. I'm 6'2" and weigh 300lbs and it supports me just fine. I needed a semi permanent solution until I can get a real bed and this cot will do just fine. Now for camping it may be a little too big unless you have a large tent. Teton also makes a tent that fits on top of this cot. I might get that some day. Only issue I had was I was sent two standard braces instead of one standard brace and one pivot arm brace. Without that pivot arm brace it's really hard to put together. You could use a tool for leverage but you might end up bending the brace. I wouldn't recommend it. Teton sent me the pivot arm brace free of charge after I reached out to them via email. They were super friendly and shipping was fast. They even have a limited lifetime warranty on their products. I highly recommend this cot as an every day bed and for camping. I've had a lot of cots in the past mainly for camping but this one is the most comfortable and sturdy one I've ever had!

It is really hard to get the end bars on the cot
I'm only giving this a three because everything about this cot is excellent with the exception of putting it together. I just bought this and am attempting to put it together now for about 3 hours and the tension is so tight that I cannot get the two end bars in place. If anyone has intelligent advice please share because I really want to use this cot but I just can't get it put together. Thank you. UPDATE - after opening and closing the cot a few times, it got much easier than the first time, and the guide bar was extremely helpful. One thing I learned is if you align the fabric such that there is an even open space on each side of the center side hinges before attempting to put the end bars on, it also makes it easier. The goal is to make sure that the fabric is evenly laid out before completing the opening process. I changed my review to five stars because it is a great cot. It just needs to be broken in. Another thing I will note is that the end bars do stick out on both sides. To avoid tent damage or accidental bumping into, I covered each end with some socks which do the trick. I recommend Teton address this issue though by providing some sort of sleeves for newer cots.

Review after sleeping on this for over a YEAR
I bought this as a temporary bed thinking it would be a few weeks on it then I'd have a good, tested camping cot. Then life took over and 14 months later I was still on it. Buckle up. This is my review. Okay, first let's talk about how sturdy this beast is. It was difficult to put it together at first but the tension between parts pays off. The model with the guide arm was well worth it. I'll be honest, I'm 6'2" and, well, fat. This cot took it all in stride. At first I wondered if this thing could truly handle the weight between the frame and fabric. The frame is as sturdy and unflinching as it was day one. The fabric, well, not so much. By month 4 it started to droop. By month 10 it hung close to the support bar. By 14 I had worn a small hole in the fabric by scraping on the center support X frame, and only then did I give it up. Here's the thing, you're probably not going to spend a year on it, and if you are, you're probably not my size. Check either ofvthose boxes and you'll be fine for many months longer than rhis lasted for me. Still, I rate it highly because I took this thing miles past the occasional use of camping out. By comparison, I "upgraded" to an expensive foam mattress I've grown to hate as it hasn't lasted nearly as long. You WILL need something underneath you on the surface. It's sturdy but thin and not at all insulated. It's a strange sensation being caught off guard by freezing from underneath. I had a blanket folded underneath me but you'll want to start with a pad or at the very least, a sleeping bag. I threw a lot of passive abuse at this thing and can certainly say it was worth the relatively low price for the time I spent on it. It's easy enough to clean with a little peroxide or carpet shampoo (basically just a stretched piece of fabric) and while there were a few minor creaks as the steel settled over the months, It never shifted or threatened to drop me to the floor. So yeah, I recommend it wholeheartedly. Maybe not for lifelong use, but it will see you through weeks of use without any concerns. It's a firm sleep, but easy enough to adjust to with the right bedding and you'll master the initially awkward mount/dismount movement before you know it. Typing this up, I'm starting to miss this thing.

Love this cot
This is a great , well built cot and I would suggest anyone looking for a cot to seriously look at this one. I love its size and easily assembled design. The cot weights a bit and even more comfortable with a comfort lite or pad to act as a cushion. Even on its own its a very comfortable cot. This is a lot nicer then the air mattress I had before.

Perfecto!! He tenido catres plegables SwissArmy, Coleman igual de buenos. 👍

Excellent cot for camping
I got this cot a few years ago for Christmas it’s so nice sleeping In the tent off the ground easy to put together! I bought a Second one this year for my boyfriend for Christmas! Excellent product it is a little heavy, but so easy to put together and way better than having to blow up an air mattress. It comes with a carrying case! It’s very firm but I liked the firmness.

I wish the fabric was more taught.
Overall it's a good cot. I like the design, it sets up easily and I particularly like that it's oversized. There are very few cots that are 40 inches wide. But I wish the fabric was tighter. You sink in the middle substantially, like your in a hammock of sorts. If you have arthritis or if you're a big person it could be a struggle to get out of it. I weigh 185 lbs and this thing is rated for 600 lb. So I can imagine a lot of people that are buying it are very heavy. If I sink in the middle more than I would like, almost like your in a hammock I can only imagine how far you would sink if you weigh more than I do. The frame and the fabric are very sturdy though. I do like the design of the legs, it allows you to store gear underneath it and it is very solid. It doesn't move much at all as you roll over or flip from side to side. I've had other cots that moved way too much when you shift your sleeping position. There aren't many options for 40-in wide cots so I'm going to keep this. I bought a foam pad to put on top of it. I will be testing it on a camping trip soon. I'll update when I return. With the foam on top if I still bow too much into the middle I will buy a thin air mattress to put underneath the foam mattress to see if that keeps me flat and level. Overall it is a good well made cot except for the fact that the fabric should be tighter in my opinion, especially if you're a heavy person which this cot is marketed towards.
