Amazing quality - costing next to nothing
On the Lumix GX85 (my first mirrorless): Construction feels really NICE. Focusing ring has a nice smooth damp feel. Focusing is pretty fast, about 90-95% on target and quiet. But not great for video. Lens hood snaps on smooth without slop. But 2 huge thumbs up (5 stars) for the fast f1.4 and very impressed with the sharpness! Even at f1.4. Not too heavy so it helps keep the GX85 light. One complaint - no lens pouch!?! Their other lenses come with one... why not this?As for the extra $10 I paid for the additional accessories ($339 lens + $10 accessories): bag is decent. Lens cleaning kit is eh. The monopod is surprisingly nice... I'll be using this for video on vacations. 52mm filters were also eh. Probably won't use them. The convertible tabletop tripod can be used as a pistol grip steadycam too, so it might be handy. Lastly, the wireless IR remote trigger.... this was a pointless giveaway! Doesn't work with the GX85! It even lists out which cameras it works with on the box (Nikon, Canon, Olympus, etc.), but Panasonic isn't listed. Did seller even bother testing this before throwing it in the package deal? A small lens pouch would've been a better option and probably would've cost the same as the remote(?). In the picture, seller shows the lens hood, lens cap and body cap... these come with the lens from Sigma regardless, so keep this in mind if you think those are added bonuses. Conclusion: I'm extremely happy with lens' performance and styling. As my first mirrorless/micro four thirds, think I'm going to enjoy it with this lens. This is coming from a professional commercial photographer, shooting with Pro Canon bodies and L lenses, for almost 10 years.Update: seller contacted me when I inquired about the wireless IR remote, that's not compatible with the Panasonic GX85, I promptly received a reply and offered a very sensible solution! Great product and great service!
