Portable step
This is a very good and strong portable step stool. The legs fold up easily and make it easy to store. It is a little too heavy though. We use it in our camper and the small storage space it takes it great.

large and sturdy
I purchased this as a large step for a lady I care for to get in to my Tahoe easier. This is a great step. Large and stores flat. Very sturdy and nothing to put together. The legs fold in with the press of a button on each leg. Best stool for disabled or those needing assistance in and out of the van or truck.

Seemingly bad design makes this stool prone to failure
I bought this stool in early 2013 and it failed after the second use without approaching the weight limit. The failure occurred while I was on the stool and stood on my tip-toes squarely in the middle while trying to work at the top of my reach. Upon examination, it seems evident to me why this stool failed. The stool is a series of metal slats held together by 4 'V' shaped bars forming a semi-star formation below them. However, because the v-shapes are not welded to each other, the stool does not benefit from the strength of all 4 bars except during even weight distribution. When a large enough asymmetrical load (though less than the rated capacity) is applied, the v-shaped supports buckled and the platform slats bowed down toward the failure. Think of it like a rope supported wooden slat bridge we all see in the movies - if a rope support is cut, the bridge dips at that spot.Mine failed after about a month but only my second use. Amazon took the return with no problem and refunded the full price. I don't recommend this product. However, I think the stool could easily be made better with a slight reworking of the design. This stool is also heavy - not as heavy as the replacement I purchased on Amazon- Stromberg Carlson Product P-102 Plastic Platform Step. The Stromberg Carlson stool is extremely heavy (it seems meant for semi-permanent uses like long term step into an RV) but I haven't had any structural problems with it.

Needs better anti-slip foam
Very sturdy, but I have had to repair the foam anti-slip strips several times.

although the stool was the right size and strength TWO ...
although the stool was the right size and strength TWO of the stool legs lost the bottom rubber after just two uses and has to be superglued back on. How longs that lasts is anyones guess as we haven't used it since.

I have two of these for easy access to my work trailer
I have two of these for easy access to my work trailer. They are good, but non slip strips are starting to peel off. This is most likely due to the fact they are outside in the elements 100% of the time. Non slip replacement strips are cheap, so this step is totally worth it.

Sturdy
This is very sturdy and stable to step on. We use it for my 90 year old mother in law to allow her to easily get into our pick up truck since it sits higher than a car. She is able to get in and out easier now. The extra wide step makes it easy for her to step onto since she does not have to worry about a little narrow step.

These are dangerous!
Upon the first use, one of ours bent right in half! We had originally bought 6, but when my employee stepped down onto it, it bent so that the middle of the stool was almost touching the ground, he nearly fell right on his face. The package says the stool is rated for 500 up to pounds, he only weighs 180 pounds! These are so flimsy, they are scary! Please look at other stools, something that is reinforced on or under the step, would be much safer. I really liked the size of the step area, that is why I originally purchased so many, but please be aware that that is the only good thing about these stools! They are dangerous, especially if someone is elderly or fragile, do not use them, you will get hurt! I have attempted to send all of them back for full refunds!
