Arml Ar10 Detachable Front Sight

I wondered what they meant by "Arml", was concerned about chinese copies. This is a genuine Armalite product, came with the Armalite tags etc. and the quality you expect from the original AR10 folks. Made in the USA.This item works for my AR10, it is .135" taller than the same item for an AR15. With this front sight in place, any AR15 rear sight works fine. Mine sighted right in, and in fact didn't need any adjustment in elevation!To clarify: the gas block on an AR-10 is a standard AR-15 item, normal height. The difference is in the upper receiver, the AR-10 has bigger parts, bigger upper, and the rail is .135" higher than an AR-15 rail compared to the barrel centerline. To make the sights work, you use a taller front sight and standard AR-15 rear sights. This item is the taller front sight for the AR-10. If you use an AR-15 front sight with an AR-15 rear sight on an AR-10, your bullets hit about 3 feet high at 25 yards, way beyond the adjustment range of any sight.The sight weighs 2.61 ounces, a chinese copy of an AR15 sight is slightly shorter and weighs more. (2.72 oz)The Armalite sight has the super quality flat finish, and has the look and feel of quality as you would expect. It compares very favorably with the knock-off part in finish and feel. The Armalite part has the part number stamped into it and an Armalite logo stamped into the front face, both nice touches.It costs roughly twice what a cheap copy costs, and they don't make cheap copies of the AR-10 front sight, just the AR-15. When you check out the part in comparison with an inexpesive copy, you can see where the money went. At twice the price, it's a good deal.If you have an AR-10, this is what you need to make your iron sights work.

I bought my rifle equipped with the Armalite AR10 gas block with the weaver style upper sight mount. I wanted BUIS to compliment my optics so I sprung for the Magpul MBUS. Little did I know but the Armalite gas block is quite a bit lower than the upper rail and will not allow proper sight alignment with the Magpul flip up sights. I was considering having my local gunsmith remove the Armalite gas block and replace it with the standard A2 front sight but after a bit of research, I came across this Armalite sight. It looks fantastic and sighted in beautifully. I now have a decent front iron sight (aluminum actually) to count on should my optics fail.

I have not used this product as I went a different direction with the rifle that this sight was meant for......however it did look well built.

Perfect height for the Armalite AR10 gas block. Came in an Armalite package and has Armalite markings.
