I bought these for my fountain that has been developing large algae blooms in the summer. The small pond clear tablets I tried have only minimal effect. It’s maybe 80 gal. in size. I used one bag. Within a few days the water was very clear. My cats drink from it without issue. I did scrape the algae blooms out with a stick first. As long as the fountain was running, the algae was very minimal, but when it was not flowing for several days, the algae started spreading again. These definitely work better with flowing water in the affected areas.

Works good. We attached a piece of a pool noodle so it stayed floating. Not sure if it would have or not but other people said to do that so we did too. So far it’s only been a few days so we will see. Comes bound in a net so it stays compacted.

SELLER HAS TO FIX THE PRODUCT LISTING TO SHOW SIZES CORRECTLY!!!I attached pictures of the two different products I have received.The small is the "Summit 125" - 5" LongThe larger ons are "Summit 130" - 9-1/2" LongThe selection buttons should be labeled Small & Large respectively.Both are 3-1/2" in diameter.At this time the smaller ones are more expensive than the larger ones???For my small pond (300 gallons) I use the small version. I put it in the waterfall bucket.READ THE PACKAGE. It takes One Month to start working.Put a new one in One Month before swap time.Overall they do seem to work to help keep the pond clearer.

They seemed to be working quite well until the racoons discovered them. They took them completely apart - as well as my favorite expensive pond plants in the process. Straw is everywhere now. Inside and outside the pond. 😢 Guess that's the last time I'll try these.

This doesn't work - I have one in a small, whisky barrel (approx. 30 gal.) with nothing but lilies. Water was light green and still is a month later - this barley bale did nothing to help clear up the algae. I can understand wanting to throw in a barrel of barley into a pond to help with the whole, natural, eco-system setup. However, don't expect this to clear it up. I use liquid barley in my indoor turtle tank once in awhile and it helps a lot with taking out the stench.

It's crazy how well this cleared up our little tub ponds. My husband was very skeptical, lol. It's saved us a lot of work & the ponds are super clear with a little bit of barley hay. Never would've guessed something so simple and natural and inexpensive would work so well.

I always use this in my pond. My water is crystal clear.
