Not so fast...
With the introduction of Michael Wolfe, Fields takes from the world he created for Sean Kruger and goes more to the realm of international thriller. He expands a bit (there's now Wolfe, former military and former CIA sniper) and Nadia Picard, former Mossad) to balance a dual protagonists , uses Joseph Kincaid who is the National Security Advisor for the President in this book and a continuing character in all of the Kruger books, as well as a few others. I believe that one needn't know the Kruger world to read this, but it's nice as a fan to see the inclusions.Wolfe and Picard escape from an assassin, disappear from view, and eventually emerge using different names. They are tasked with uncovering the person who ordered their murder, and along the way change names, makes use of the resources of Joseph Conrad and HE from the Kruger books, get married, have sex, kill people, defeat enemies and more - not necessarily in that order, I might add. They involve the Mossad, the CIA, the FBI, hackers and more. There is some fun technology in play, primarily due to the presence of a few characters from Krugerworld (JR Diwinski and Alexia Gibbs).I like Fields' work. I've binged everything - except a prequel story he mentions in passing - and will continue as they come out. I will admit that I prefer Kruger, an FBI profiler, to Wolf, a government sponsored assassin. I make my view on that clearer in the review of the second book in the Wolf saga, The Last Insurgent.

Very Good
Good read! Plot was good I didn’t want to put it down. Characters were well developed along with the plot. I woke up mornings after reading the night before and wanted to read more to find out what was happening! Looking forward to future installments.

Top story
More twists and turns than an Irish country lane. The tale expands and gets more intricate ....... then just as one threat is removed, another one appears. Two spies, expert killers, on the run - but they don't know who their adversary is. Completely absorbing.

Ripping Good Yarn
Really enjoyed this book, a good read and well thought out. I must admit I didn’t guess who the bad guy was but it made sense in the end.Great read, would make a good series.

Thrilling Thriller
Thoroughly enjoyable and not always predictable. Interesting interaction between secret services of international powers and demonstration of cooperation whilst maintaining deniability.

Fast paced thriller
A well written novel full of action in various locations in the world. A light hearted read without gratuitous sex but with a dry sense of humour.
