3-Piece Tanuki Raccoon Sake Set

I absolutely love this set. The colors weren't as vibrant bright and brown as they appear in the picture but the painted tanuki faces look just as great as they do in the picture. Tails are also painted on the set on the back side making the set even more adorable. The coloring on mine was a bit more stoney grey than the brown pictured but I love it, it feels and looks more unique and personally handcrafted than mass manufactored that way. For how small and inexpensive the set is, it's surprisingly heavy and sturdy.FYI for anyone who isn't familiar with Sake Sets or Sake in general, the cups and bottles are tiny. It's normal. It does come in looking smaller than the picture makes it look but that is a good thing. It's the right size to hold an entire average sized bottle of sake. The bigger bottles of sake you might buy like a big speciality bottle of milky sake wouldn't fit in it. The size of the set works out perfectly for the normal amount of sake that anyone would consume in a night anyways.If you are buying the set just to keep as a cute decoration and not to use as a functional set, keep in mind the bigger jug will be smaller than your hand and the smaller cups are just like wider shot glasses. The set looks adorable in person and would be cute as a decorational piece.As long as you rinse out the set when you are done with it, it's easy to keep clean and it doesn't take up much space in the cabinets. I plan on buying another set so we will have enough for when we host guests because this is only available in a 2 cup set.The box that the set comes in is a nice sturdy plain black box that is great if you plan on gifting this set to anyone. Just add a ribbon and it would make a great birthday, christmas, or housewarming gift.

I bought these as a gift for a friend and they have loved them ever since! They use them all the time for sake and other liquids. The Tanaka pattern is adorable and the quality of material is great.One thing to note - they are quite tiny! But that was no concern to my friend who I bought them for.

Great little set! Reasonably thick stone wear, great glaze, and definitely authentic. I lived in Japan for three years and saw this set everywhere. Got it here because I always regretted not buying it when I had the chance, but I didn’t think it would be the same one I saw of the same quality. Happily surprised! For $10 I couldn’t resist, and it cost about that much in Japan too (¥1000) this is about as authentic as my two antique sake sets, albeit the antiques are handmade and beautiful, but nobody yells “kawaii” when I bring them out the way this set does

Bought this for my husband as a gift, he had spent Years looking for a good saki set and hated the cheap plain offerings elsewhere. At $40 I wasn't expecting much, but not only is the set cute as crap it seems to be a really great quality. It has a great weight and distributed heat for hot saki beautiful. He was giddy, and I was thrilled at how much a small gesture meant. Bonus points because he loves raccoons and tanukis.

This little set made a great gift for a friend

The set is very cute and we bought it for our friend's moving gift, they loved it.The only minor comment I had is the packing looks a bit low quality.

I debated a long time between this set and one that was white with bright mid-century modern orange flowers on it. Almost reluctantly I opted for this set, as that was the vote of friends I asked. I'm glad now because it is just adorable. I was afraid it would be almost "too cute" and I like my whimsy in very small doses. But this set is fine. It's well crafted and cuter in person than the picture. The glaze is nice - the reason the glaze doesn't circle the entire inner rim is to encourage holding the cup so that the face is facing the person across from you. It's clever.

I bought this as a housewarming gift for my fiance (our first home). I have given it to him yet but I know he's gonna love it. This set is incredibly cute. I am so pleased with the quality. My order had some kind of mix up and Amazon said it was lost in transit, but I just got it today (maybe 4 day late). Very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it!
