Sia: TV is My Parent

What can I say? Sia is my absolute favorite singer/songwriter and I liked her material from this time frame very much. Her ability to write lyrics to complex melody is unmatched as is her talent for impeccable improvised runs through out the set. A rare commercial talent these days can belt it out and entertain with minimal effects, lighting, dancing, or auto-tune assistance. The backing band is excellent and the sounds very organic, since actual instruments are being used of course. While I do prefer the Sydney performance floating around the net, I like this one very much too. It's a shame she can no longer can find it within herself to tour anymore- there's precious few that can do it as well.The extras are pretty cool which includes cameras following Sia around when doing some publicity, horsing around with the band, and some music videos. It all looks part of a attempt to promote a obviously very, very talented artist, but didn't exactly go according to plan and mostly failed. Lucky for us persistence pays off.

I'm a Pro VJ and DJ for 30+ years. I have 120,000 music videos on DVD. I needed some Sia music videos, so I bought this Concert disc back in 2009, mainly for the 4 bonus videos, as, for some reason, it's impossible to get her stuff tbh, on any regular DVD compilation, or on any VJ promo discs.I ended up watching the Concert first of course, and omg - instantly hooked - and I've watched it and listened to it, almost daily now, for 3 years. I'm not saying it has a good light show - it hasn't ... or any special effects ... or any gimmicks .... or any superstar DJs ... or any other special guests - it hasn't anything like that either - so, no - it's not like any of the 'usual' big venue big hype Concerts that have replaced album sales as the artist's money-earner these days ... lol - no - it's about Sia's incredible unique voice, her humorous personality, and her great lyrics, melodies, stories, and great band - a brilliant DVD for a night in !!!!Trust me - it's incredible.So so good.

This is a MUST HAVE for SIA lovers. A lot of it can be found in pieces on the Internet but the entire thing on one DVD is certainty the way to go and the quality is much better. Her earlier work, in a smaller venue, is excellent and different from current Pop tunes and Movie soundtracks. I saw her in Concert last October and she was great but SHE prefers smaller venues and builds an on stage bond with the audience - which comes out in this DVD. I will watch this many times and recommend it to any Sia fan. I sure would love to meet her

TV IS MY PARENT is a performance/documentary program presenting the Australian artist, Sia, in concert during her 2007-2008 US tour. There's abundant interviews with Sia and her band with a fair amount of off-color language and humor (not suitable for children) and behind the scenes activity, meeting with fans, etc. Sia comes through as ever crazy, fun, and lovable. This purchase offers a healthy play list and four official music videos. This is a great gift for any fan and presents the artist shortly before her bursting into the very big time. An enjoyable romp, even for those not so familiar with this extremely talented global star.

I discovered SIA while looking for unique music to cover on a demo cd. When I listened to her I could not believe she wasn't global yet. I have had the absolute pleasure of offering her style and energy to others that haven't yet heard her. It is one thing to HEAR her and quite another to see her "live", on this dvd. Her passion is a glaring example of why I love her like I do. She is in total surrender to her music during performance and I just wish I could actually SEE her in person working her magic. Get this !!! Watch this !!! Experience her and just see if what I am saying is not the truth. You will not be sorry. See her now, before she conquers the world of music, and you can say you discovered her for you and your friends before anyone else.

A fun glimps into the earlier works of the AMAZING Sia! Playful and wild, Sia and her band show you on and backstage realness. Wish I could have seen her live in these days. She is such an amazing talent, I just love her to bits. ❤️

I got a signed one. Maybe some ones lost prized possession.Tried to make out the owners name (no luck).SIAs signature looks authentic.

My daughter has really enjoyed watching this dvd as sia is her favourite singer at the moment. This is the only dvd you can see her on.

Einfach wunderbar, ich wünschte, ich wäre live dabei gewesen.Mit Ihrer wunderbaren, rauhen Stimme und einer Menge (teils nicht ganz jugendfreiem) Humor singt sich Sia mit sichtbarem Vergnügen durch dieses Konzert. Auch die "alten" Hits mit Zero 7 sind mit dabei. Oft Langsam, fast soulig, dann wieder poppiger. Keine Ausreisser in Richtung des mit sinnlosen Schüttelreimen getexteten Synthi-Schrotts, der heute in den Charts als Musik durchgeht.Sehr schön: Die DVD hat Regionalcode 0, läuft überall.Meine liebste Musik-DVD, 5 Sterne.PS:Scheint sich hier in DE zur Rarität zu entwickeln, wenn ich mir die Mondpreise ansehe, die nun dafür aufgerufen werden. Deswegen schaut doch mal in der Bucht und habt keine Scheu, im Ausland zu kaufen.Habe gerade noch zur Sicherheit ein zweites Exemplar erstanden dort, aus Kanada, neu, umgerechnet EUR 20,- incl. Versand. 2-3 Wochen Lieferzeit: Na und? Besser, als einem Abzocker das Vielfache dieses Preises in den Rachen zu schmeissen! Die DVD hat keinen Regionalcode, sie läuft bei Euch, auch wenn Ihr sie auf den Fidschi-Inseln kauft.

I absolutely love it! I'm a big fan of Sia and since this DVD is not sold anymore I had to pay $81 CAD for it but it was worth the price. I've waited so long to see if I can get a better price but it seems like it's the best price out there.The show is beautiful, with all the artwork. She is funny, I like her little talk between the songs it makes me laugh everytime. Also, her voice is incredibly good! Sounds like on CD. Her voice is better than on The We Meaning You Tour live album. It includes songs mostly from Some People Have Real Problems as well as songs from Colour The Small Ones and her work with Zero 7.If you're a fan, it's worth the price!
