Perfect for the child perfectionist.
This book is very easy to read, so if you're looking for something that will challenge a 1st or 2nd grader's reading skills then don't buy this book. It's perfect, though, for children of all ages who have some self-esteem issues that need working on (we all go through it sometimes!).I bought this book for my stepson who is such a perfectionist with his homework, that he cries when he makes mistakes. I've often times tell him that we all make mistakes, and we should always try our best. This book has opened him up to speak more about his issues, and help him understand that there are people who love him no matter what. He always feels better after we read it together. The book is short and straight to the point, and anyone can relate to the story. And when I say short, you will have no problem reading this every night without begging for the book to end soon (some children's books are just too tedious!).

Super books for helping young children deal with feelings
The entire series of books by Spelman are terrific because they name the feelings, they give examples for having them and THEN they describe, in understandable terms, ways to deal with them. As a retired Preschool Educator, I cannot recommend these books highly enough!

(I think they are all in love with the teacher & eye for her attention
Bought this to get my grandson through some rough times at daycare. He only has one girl in the class, and the boys have some issues. (I think they are all in love with the teacher & eye for her attention. This book brings up positive reinforcement in a meaningful way and I am a certified educator.
