I have horrible red rocky clay soil in my yard which is so difficult to dig in that I need a heavy digging pole to dig holes more than a couple inches deep or wide. It is hard work and very frustrating to plant anything. I ordered a couple of shepherds' hooks recently for my garden, and I decided to try to make my life easier by ordering these augurs and drilling holes into my awful soil rather than trying to dig holes for the shepherds' hook prongs. I don't know why I didn't order these sooner because they have made a huge difference in my ability to quickly and easily dig holes for the shepherds' hooks as well as bulbs and plants. After I got the shepherds' hooks installed, I quickly and easily planted 50 narcissus bulbs in under an hour, a chore that would easily have taken me half a day of slow and difficult digging the old way. I like that there are different sizes and lengths of these augurs which will accommodate different planting hole sizes. The augurs are very easy to insert into the drill, are very sturdy, and made quick work drilling holes into my awful soil. I am sure I will be using them for a wide variety of chores such as aerating my compost piles, planting/transplanting. I only wish I had bought these years ago - they would have saved me many hours of drudgery and frustration!

Great auger. I bought this to plan multiple tree spouts. I used a 20v cordless drill. The auger dug right through the dirt with no problem. I did take me several times to figure out the correct techinque so the dirt didn't fall back down the hole, but once I figured that out, it worked great.

Works great. Used to plant our flower garden and made it go by super quick.

This auger worked great for planting flowers. I have hard clay soil and I usually dig it out and put potting soil in with the annual. This tool work great with the drill. Got through the hard clay easily. Save me a ton of time and energy. Highly recommend!

This auger drill bit worked great. I have only used the larger 3" bit so far. It made it easy to drill holes in the soil to plant bulbs. The biggest reason why I bought it was to drill many holes and loosen up the ground to plant bushes. With the tough clay ground I have in my flower bed, it is normally very difficult to dig out a large hole for planing bushes. Using the auger bit on the drill made the task 1000 times easier. Easy to wash off too. Would recommend.

I ordered this heavy duty drill bit to install termite stakes around our house. This drill bit is the perfect size to drill out a decent size hole to install the stakes. It was really easy to install onto our drill and it makes a perfect hole every time. I could definitely see us using this for planting plants or bulbs as well since it takes hardly any effort.

Purchased the 2-pack but only received one auger. Amazon refunded me but it's still disappointing since I wanted both. I tried it (3.5" x 16") with a corded drill and so far seems to work well. I'd give the product more stars if I'd received and been able to test both augers.
