Easy A

After watching Emma Stone in "Crazy, Stupid Love" it was easy to become a fan of her work. La La Land, The Help, Birdman (with Michael Keaton) and Easy A are fun comedies with great plots. Some Comedies tend to be just plain stupid but any movie that stars Emma Stone, is funny and intriguing. I never get bored watching her movies.

Ends a decade of great high-school comedies (Napoleon Dynamite, Mean Girls, Superbad etc) on a high note. Consistently hilarious and well-observed. Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson debating whether to watch The Other Boleyn Girl or The Bucket List, which arrived from Netflix's mail service (!!!), is easily one of the funniest scenes ever.

I did consider rating Easy A a bit lower, because it's certainly far from perfect. But I had to take into consideration that it's just so *watchable*, and has been my go to movie for awhile now when I'm really bored, and after seeing it I think six times I still am not really tired of it. Easy A is frequently paired with Mean Girls, in that both seem to be satires of social and sexual politics in high school, but I must say I loathe Mean Girls. As far as I can tell Easy A is more intelligent, less pretentious, and less overall annoying than MG by a long shot. While it does make some huge assumptions about the behavior of teens to drive its plot, and relies on stereotypes at times, it can raise some interesting questions about conformity or whatever. Maybe the ideas Easy A addresses aren't new, but that isn't how satire works in the first place.I excuse a number of Easy A's issues-- stereotypes, assumptions, and the need for a fair amount of suspension of disbelief-- by assuming that it's intended as a farce. Here's the definition of a farce from Wikipedia, not because I assume you don't know it but because it fits the movie so goshdarn perfect: a comedy that aims at entertaining the audience by means of unlikely, extravagant, and improbable situations, disguise and mistaken identity, verbal humor of varying degrees of sophistication, which may include word play, and a fast-paced plot whose speed usually increases. So it doesn't matter that in real life, the *entire* school would never care about one girl's (boring at first) sexual exploits. It's just a plot device to make a point about how society views men having sex in a more positive light than women doing it. As for the stereotypical Christian characters, yeah, I can see how the depiction would be offensive to some. Should they have been more fleshed out? Yeah, probably, but I'm not sure there was *time*. Again, they served a narrative purpose. Though packaged as a silly teen comedy, this was a movie with something to say.That all sounded iffy, so here's some stuff I definitely like: first of all, I was pretty happy with how they wrote the gay kid. He had some depth. He was sympathetic. UNLIKE the supposedly gay boy in Mean Girls, he did *not* kiss a *girl*, and was actually shown to have a boyfriend at the end of the movie. So that's cool. I don't know what he's doing for money, since he ran away from home, but we'll assume he's got something worked out. I also liked the way the film was structured as a webcast, and Emma Stone's performance-- of course. There were some truly affecting moments with her character, like when she admitted in confession that everyone hated her, and she kind of hated herself as well; also when she and Brandon had a moment after their supposed tryst at the party. He was really grateful and all, but I don't think it made up for how everybody stared at her when she left the room. That brings me to Todd. He was actually waaaaay more understanding than the main character deserved, and certainly a candidate for most tolerant (boy)friend ever. Finally, I don't know if the climactic scene with the musical number is a thing that would happen in real life, but it was an homage to '80s movies in the first place and it was also really cool.So overall, I can understand some criticism of this movie, but I still like it a lot. It seems to be the sort of teen girl movie that a lot of guys can appreciate, and I'm not entirely sure why that is, but it's awesome. Now if only people weren't willing to gut me for dumping on Mean Girls. Talk about your stupid stereotypes, but that is neither here nor there. Easy A gets a 3.5. It would get a 4 if I didn't actually think that Christians had a point in feeling offended by it.

Very funny

I wasn't sure what to expect when I played this movie--it was a boring Saturday night so I decided to watch a video--and was pleasantly surprised. A solid well acted and written comedy, but also with a very poignant story as Olive found out the hard way who she could really trust and who truly had her back. It ended up that out of her entire school and social network, only 5 people stood by her when it really counted: her mother, father, brother, Todd, and her teacher who she had hurt the most. The person who she had always thought was her best friend was amongst the first to turn on her. In short, a very good movie with an solid message about actions, consequences, and, in the end, who has your back when you need them most.

Still watch this movie big fan sucks that you rent it only for 24 hrs though should be a few days or allow free for prime members

I love this movie

I absolutely loved this movie! It is a comedy and does have a couple of words here and there that may not be suitable for small children. The main character in the movie does wear some racy clothing as she continues on her course of self-discovery, and decides that dressing conservative just does not fit her new reputation. Victoria's Secret and Fredrick's of Hollywood type of clothing worn to high school is not actually something that would be allowed in real life. This movie definitely shows what happens when one small amount of information is blown up and goes through a telephone type of friend line, becoming grossly distorted along the way. This movie also shows a lot of the interpersonal relationships between different characters, such as, best friends, frenemies, boy/girl, etc. It is nice to see a movie where the main character still has some morals and is willing to help out friends who just do not feel popular or accepted. There are quite a few stars in the movie, with Emma Stone being the main character, who gets into a situation at her high school while trying to impress her slutty best friend. I chose to purchase the Blu-ray version over the regular DVD, and it was a good choice, as the movie plays so much clearer and crisper. The movie was wrapped in plastic, and had the original cover, so it was not a knock off copy made by some backwoods person trying to pass it off as the original. Overall, a very good movie choice

Buena película. Es muy divertida, ingeniosa, y graciosa, pero a la vez el tema es un poco triste por como se percibe a la mujer en situaciones como las de Olive. Emma Stone esta genial en su papel.

Mit Einfach zu haben inszenierte Regisseur Will Gluck eine äußerst überraschende und lehrreiche Teeniekomödie ganz nach dem Rezept des legendären John Hughes, dem Regisseur für die bekanntesten Hollywoodkomödien der 80er.Inhaltlich beschäftigt sich der Film mit der Dynamik einer selbst in Bewegung gesetzten Lüge und deren negativen Folgen im Zeitalter des Web 2.0, sowie dem damit eingehenden Imageschaden und der dazu ergänzten Interpretationen der berühmt berüchtigten Gerüchteküche. Im Laufe des Films entwickelt sich die Komödie aber auch zu einer Moralgeschichte die auf Ehrlichkeit und der auf Basis beruhenden Besinnung der inneren Werte setzt und somit seine klar zu vermittelnde Botschaft am Ende nicht verfehlt.Gleich zu Beginn weiß der in Form eines rückblickenden Webcasts inszenierte Film durch die Rolle von Emma Stone zu überzeugen und das ganze so in einer Art der modernen Moralpredigt auf den Zuschauer wirken zu lassen.Stone schafft es vor allem in ihrer ersten Hauptrolle den Zuschauer an ihrer erzählten Geschichte und somit ihrem Leben teilhaben zu lassen. Mit dem Vorwissen, das es ihr größter Fehler war, erzählt sie uns belehrend und aus ihrer Sicht, welche Entschlüsse sie aus diesen Ereignissen gezogen hat. Deshalb punktet der Film hier schon mal mit einer gut gezielten Einbindung des Zuschauers an den Film.Auch die anderen Teilpunkte die dem Film zum großen Ganzen verhelfen, geben keinerlei Grund zur Kritik. Denn sowohl das Drehbuch weiß ohne Leerläufe und mit intelligenten Wortgefechten zu überzeugen als auch der Rest des Schauspielensemble. Zu erwähnen sind auch noch die grandiosen Kamerafahrten, die gerade den Abspann nochmal mit einer ungewöhnlich langen Kamerafahrt aufwerten und bei welchen die Schauspieler sowie die Verantwortlichen des Films in Form eines Textes nochmal kreativ in die Landschaft integriert werden.Fazit: Unterhaltsame aber auch lehrreiche Teeniekomödie über die negativen Auswirkungen einer Lüge, welche im zeitgemäßen Erzählstil verpackt wurde.Kurzum Emma Stone ist Einfach zu haben, genau wie bei mir der Kauf des Films.

Ich kann nicht viel Neues zu den übrigen positiven Rezensionen hinzufügen. Trotzdem möchte ich den Film nochmals mit einer 5-Sterne-Bewertung belohnen. Gaaaanz tolles Drehbuch mit vielen witzigen Ideen, superben Dialogen, eine unglaublich bezaubernde, humorvolle Emma Stone, ein Feel-Good-Movie par excellence mit mehr Tiefgang als erwartet, aber einfach auch nur so geniessbar. Vor allem behält der Film - trotz oder gerade wegen des Hauptthemas - die ganze Zeit Stil und rutscht für mein Empfinden nie unter die Gürtellinie, hebt sich also wohltuend von vielen Komödien neueren Datums ab...Ich habe mich schon lange nicht mehr bei einer Komödie so amüsiert wie hier. Meiner Frau gefiel der Streifen ebenfalls hervorragend. Hommage an die 80er, perfekt angeknüpft ans Handy-Zeitalter. Viel mehr als nur eine Teenie-Komödie, aber schaut Euch den Film selbst an. Wer ein cleveres Mädel in der Hauptrolle verkraften kann, die ironisch kommentiert, wie sich ihr Leben durch ein Gerücht drastisch verändert und welche Auswirkungen das auf eine ganze Highschool haben kann, der wird hier echt gut bedient. Und die Eltern der Hauptdarstellerin sind einfach nur göttlich - nicht nur weil sie leicht crazy sind, sondern weil sie stets zu ihrer Tochter halten und darauf vertrauen, dass sie eine Lösung für ihre Probleme findet.Wenn nix anderes mehr kommt, dann ist das für mich die Komödie des Jahres - auch wenn der Film bereits 2011 veröffentlicht wurde.

Seit Zombieland  Zombieland  ist Emma Stone für mich eine Empfehlung und Grund genug um mir einen Film anzusehen. Im Fall von Paper Man  Paper Man - Zeit erwachsen zu werden  konnte sie einiges retten, bei Einfach zu haben aber stimmt alles! Keine von den kindischen Lindsay Lohan High School Komödien, keine Megan Fox Arroganz, sondern sympathisch, originell, herzlich und sehr amüsant sind sowohl Film als auch Emma Stones Rolle.Die Pink Edition ist günstiger als die ältere Fassung und heisst offenbar so, weil die Hülle rosa ist, die eigentliche DVD ist es übrigens nicht. Ein Wendecover gibt es leider nicht. Die Extras und Ausstattung sind nicht anders als bei der bisherigen Fassung.Olive (Emma Stone) befürchtet an ihrer Highschool übersehen zu werden, weil sie meint nicht interessant, hübsch oder sonst wie besonders zu sein. In einem Internettagebuch verrät sie dem Zuschauer ihre Pläne, um Aufmerksamkeit zu erlangen. Olive erfindet Geschichten von wilden Affären und erlangt rasch den Ruf ein Riesenluder oder gar Schlimmeres zu sein.Einfach zu haben mischt, ähnlich wie Immer Drama um Tamara  Immer Drama um Tamara , Weltliteratur mit einer lustigen Liebeskomödie. In diesem Fall ist es das Buch Der scharlachrote Buchstabe (genau wie im sehr gelungenen Film Crazy, stupid, love  Crazy, Stupid, Love , in dem Emma Stone ebenfalls brilliert). In diesem Buch, das offenbar so viele amerikanische Schüler im Unterricht lesen müssen, geht es um die Stigmatisierung einer jungen Frau. In einer besonders starken Szene steht Olive selbstbewusst zu ihrem miesen Ruf, sie malt sich ein rotes A auf ihr schwarzes Kleid.Lisa Kudrow, Thomas Haden Church, Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson und vor allem Emma Stone verleihen diesem großartigen Film die Art Witz und Pepp, die etwa Juno, zumindest meiner Meinung nach, nur angestrebt, aber nicht erreicht hat.Ein bezaubernder, lustiger Film mit einer Hommage der 80er Jahre Liebeskomödie und mit der brillanten Emma Stone!Genre: Komödie, Laufzeit: 89 Minuten, Extras: Gag reel, Emma Stone Casting Aufnahmen, Kommentar mit Regisseur Will Gluck und Emma Stone, Trailer, USA 2010 (DVD 2011).
