Medline Supersoft Nasal Oxygen Cannula

This is my second purchase for this product and for some reason my original review of the product has disappeared, maybe because the original version has changed vendors or ASIN. Nevertheless, Medline’s SuperSoft Nasal Oxygen Cannula are everything they say they are. My wife is on oxygen 24/7 and as you can imagine, sleeping with a nasal cannula, made of hard plastic like the Salter and other brands, leaves not only facial indentations, but it causes sores and other painful problems. These are not wholly without discomfort when sleeping but they are as good as you are going to get if you are a 100% side-sleeper (back sleepers should have no problem whatsoever); and they are equally better during daytime active use. The only complaint with ALL cannulas is the rigid plastic portion of the oxygen line just loves to curl and get in the way of normal activities. But the soft gel-like facial portion reduces stresses on the face, fits comfortably over the ears without causing discomfort over time and stays in the nose nicely. There is also a lack of the “plastic smell” other brands often have. After going through the last batch of 50, I guess re-purchasing a second batch of 50 should say it all, this is a very good product and worth the investment if you are considering. I will also note that since the last purchase of this Medline product, the standard connector end has changed to a “universal” end. It is wider now and I suspect that was a design change for a problem others have had which we did not. It still connects easily to the D or E size oxygen canister and equally easy to the double ended connector going to the Oxygen Concentrator if you have a 50+ foot line you wish to connect to. The main draw to this product is obviously the soft facial section since the regular tubing comprising most of the cannula is equally comparable to most good quality latex free oxygen lines.

Great canulas. They do not irritate your nose since they are super soft. I ALMOST DID NOT ORDER THEM SINCE THEY ARE NONTETURNABLE. I wish you could buy a sample one to determine if you like it before ordering 50 canulas. They are a great price, I'm glad I gave them a try!

I have been looking for this type of cannula for almost 8 months I use to purchase the Westmed supersoft but since they were bought out by Airways they changed the nose plate and it isn't very good. Anyone who is looking for the original Westmed supersoft cannula this is it. I purchased the Medline 4 ft soft touch ones a while ago but they are stiffer and not as comfortable these are perfect. Again if you use to purchase the Westmed Supersoft this is the cannula that is almost identical.

Wow the price on these has shot up, but what are you going to do if you need them? They are good quality, soft, work as expected.

I like that the nasal cannula and portion attached near the face are real soft & supple which makes them very comfortable. I am able to use it on my room concentrator as well as on my Inogen One portable concentrator, although it does have a tendency to pop off with the slightest pull (on the Inogen). Difficult to get the "loops" out of the entire length (from being wound up in the packaging) which makes it a slight negative on the room concentrator but funny enough is a positive on my portable unit because it makes it easier to wind it up and attach it to the unit so it is not dragging and won't get caught on something. I will purchase this again!

EDIT to below: I cut off the flared end and it fits great!!!! Then, Amazon put it as a Black Friday deal and I bought 50 more ... for the future. YEAH... So super soft. ******* I LOVE the softness of the cannula. However, where it plugs into my Inogen, isn't a great fit. It pops off the connector very easily. Reading the comments, I've seen where some have cut off the large flared portion and then it fits the connector on the Inogen. I'm going to try that this weekend. I'm hopeful, because this is a box of 50!

Very soft cannula. The hospice I am on refuses to furnish the soft cannula. It is a major comfort issue when you are on oxygen 24/7. The regular kind shouldn't even be sold

I have been using this brand of nasal cannula for ten years. It often varies in the flexibility of the line that wraps around the face. It used to stay soft for a week; however, as of late, after three days, the tubing that wraps around the face/ears begins to harden, which causes the tubing to stiffen and fall off repeatedly. I end up taping the tubing to my face to ensure it stays on while I sleep. I find this most annoying! It is not the product it used to be! I purchase a years supply at a time and now have a supply that is less than ideal for comfort. There is an odor, but it is to be expected with a man-made silicon/pliable product such as tubing... annoying for sure, it assaults the senses! You can't fault the supplier, as this is a manufacturer's issue. The quality is not what it used to be. I find the value for the price failing the consumer. The fit is good for one or two days then it doesn't stay on. The air flow is fine unless your on an extension tube that gets cuts in it. The length of the nasal ports are fine, they do not cause any undue distress on the interior of the nose.
