Fluffy, soft, and smells great!
I originally wrote this review for the Zymox shampoo, but the rinse is just as amazing and so I'm going to put this here too! I don't have the words to tell you the difference Zymox shampoo, rinse, and the ear drops have made in the lives of my 6 rescue dogs! Every single one of them came out of horrific abuse situations. Their coats were shocking messes, in some cases, a lot of their fur was missing, and some even had sores on them from being left outside, neglected for years and years, and having been severely bug bitten. All of them were chewing themselves...filthy, pitiful, skeletal specimens...bless their hearts... on the day they each came to live here with us to get a fresh start. With two of my rescues, you couldn't even tell what color they were when I found them - and with one, you couldn't even tell what kind of dog she was, she was such a mess. That poor little skeleton with almost no hair turned out to be a gorgeous Corgi!! Imagine my surprise and delight! At 13, she now looks half her age, and ready for the show stages! lol While Princess Granny may not be headed for Westminster, the fluffy white parts on her coat now shine just like a show dog, and miracle of miracles, she no longer chews herself. No more hot spots. No more foot chewing. When she got here, she had such a bad problem with hot spot, I didn't know if I'd ever be able to find her any real relief. Even the spray from the vet only worked AFTER she got a new spot and she would cry from the pain- but Zymox shampoo and rinse changed ALL of that for her. The coat she's grown in since we got these products is fluffy, soft as silk, and she, like her adopted brothers and sisters who all get their baths with Zymox shampoo and rinse, all smell like heaven! This product is amazing!!!!! If I wrote Zymox's praises all day, you still wouldn't have a clear idea of just what it can do. The animals I help are not regular pets. They're all animals who have been, in some cases, for 10 years or more, subjected to horrors no dog should ever know. Part of their therapy and healing process is dealing with their health issues, including coats you'd probably think were hopeless at a glance...but with Zymox, they not only all grew stunning, beautiful coats, their allergies and itching all went away even after having suffered a lifetime of neglect!!! (Zymox products + a good grain free/potato free food = WOW!) While searching for answers to help the Corgi, I read about Zymox on an online forum. Now, I wish i could go back and find the person who tipped me off and give them a virtual hug and a kiss. The expensive groomer's shampoos and conditioners I'd used for years don't hold a candle to what Zymox can do for your dogs. You'll see results right away! Buying this along with the Shampoo and the Ear drops has been a total life changer for all of my rescue dogs, and I'll never use anything else!! To top it all off, it makes them smell so good that people who come into your home won't smell "dog" no matter how many you have. They'll say: "Oh, what smells so good?" and you can then point at your dogs and say "You're smelling their shampoo/conditioner!" lol So on top of healing just about any skin condition I've come across in my years as a rescue worker, It not only gives your dogs the relief they need and a gorgeous coat, it turns them into walking air fresheners to boot! lol I cannot recommend this product highly enough, but if I could, I'd give it 6 stars!!!

Highly recommended! Helped with my dog's problematic skin
My corgi contracted ringworm at the dog park when he was around 10 months old. It went away after 6 weeks of twice weekly bathing with Malaseb, but unfortunately he was re-exposed to ringworm again. Over the next 6 months, we used Malaseb antifungal shampoo, had several different antifungal sprays from the vet, messy sulfur products, oral fluconazole, and militantly cleaned the house and his bedding with bleach and Xtreme Cleen. Frustratingly, monthly vet checkups showed that he still had ringworm on his tummy, back, and bottom. Since neither my dog nor anyone who was exposed to him had any ringworm lesions (weird), I was about to give up and just stop the insanity of rigorous washing and cleaning. Towards the end of summer, the monthly flea drops were not as effective and my dog was quite itchy from bites, seasonal allergies, and constant bathing. I was browsing Amazon, looking for some soothing shampoo and stumbled across this product. I've purchased Zymox brand products before and have been impressed with their quality, so when I saw the description that it "destroys" bacteria and fungi and the other good reviews, I bit the bullet. Instructions: "Zymox Conditioning Rinse may be applied directly to wet fur or diluted at a ratio of 3 oz Rinse to 1 gallon water. Completely cover animal with Zymox Conditioning Rinse. Leave on to dry or rinse lightly. For problem areas, Zymox Conditioning Rinse may be applied full strength as a lotion and left on to dry." How I used it: the first time I tried the product, I bathed my dog in Malaseb, towel dried him, blow dried him a bit more, then applied the Zymox directly to his trouble areas as a leave-in conditioner, trying to reach his skin past his thick fur. I did that twice over the next 2 weeks. After confirmation of no more ringworm, I apply this as a conditioner, massage it into his fur and skin, let it sit for a few minutes, then lightly rinse. Product: it's white and fairly thick, much like a deep conditioner. The scent is very strong, it smells like a room full of old ladies that doused themselves in perfume and baby powder. I was surprised that people liked the scent, I normally am not one to be bothered by smells, but I do find this one a bit strong and wish it was either unscented or had a different scent. It lingers for a while on his coat, but dissipates by the next morning. Surprisingly, applying it as a leave-in conditioner without rinsing it off did not make his fur sticky, oily, or greasy. It just seemed to soak in and leave his fur extremely soft, without any yucky residue. Efficacy: After using the product for almost a month, along with Malaseb, my dog is no longer itchy! The icing on the cake was that the vet found no sign of ringworm at his most recent appointment! I cannot say for sure if the Zymox rinse directly contributed to getting rid of the ringworm, but it definitely improved his skin and quality of life. I will continue to use this product each time I bathe him. Overall, I would recommend this product for dogs with skin issues.

Finally!
We have a Yorkie-Jack Russell mix and she has the skin conditions that Yorkies often do and the coarse like a JRT. She would get these sores on her belly and legs that she would scratch, and scratch, and scratch. She sleeps in our bed so she would keep us up at night with her scratching. The first time we took her to the vet...they said it was most likely an irritation from grass because she was small and a 'low rider'. The second time we took her to the vet (once she got a little bigger) they gave us an antibiotic to give to her...her spots went away for about 2 weeks and then came back in full force. I called the vet back and they gave her a round of steroids and antibiotics...which worked for about 3 weeks (and while our usually spunky terrier was sluggish, fatigued and not herself due to the medication effects). Our vet determined that it was most likely a fungus or an allergy. That's when we started the long and pricey search for a shampoo that would work. I spent a lot of money on different shampoos, trips to the groomer for 'soothing dog masks' and medicated washes, none of this worked! I tried oatmeal baths, anti-fungals, we even went as far as to give her benadryl just to let her get some rest. That poor baby was still scratching and chewing holes in herself. At one point it got so bad on her stomach that her whole under side looked like she had been dragged across cement. Enter Zymox...I ordered Zymox Enzymatic Rinse and fish oil chews for her (I heard those would be good for her skin issues also). We followed the directions on the rinse twice week (after shampooing with DVM Pharmaceuticals Malaseb shampoo) for 2 weeks and then went down to once a week. As well as giving her the fish oil and it's worked wonders. And this stuff (unlike the other shampoos we tried) smells great--like laundry detergent. I also put a small amount on her after I rinse her and leave it. Her coat is beautiful and soft now and very rarely do we see a hot spot. This is so much better than medicating her! The following are the things we tried that did not work: -Bedhead: Life's an itch -Durvet NuStock (this does work on certain things but smell horrible and didn't work for the hot spots) -Sulfodene Medicated Shampoo and Conditioner for Dogs -Virbac Epi-Soothe Shampoo -Cloud Star Buddy Wash Dog Shampoo I intend to purchase the Zymox shampoo but first I'm trying to use out the Malaseb first. I do highly recommend this rinse for itchy dogs.

So far, I am a believer!
My dog is a Wheaten Terrier and has always had chronic ear and skin problems (mostly yeast infections that make him itch so bad he gets secondary bacterial infections from irritation to the skin) . More so when he was younger, but they always pop up at least once a year. At first, I spent hundreds of dollars in vet bills (I am sure it's well over a thousand!) The last few years I was able to keep them at bay with apple cider vinegar rinses (yes, it does work). Well, a few months ago we had a lot of rain, and he developed a really bad skin infection...lots of itching and redness and scabs- and the smell!!! UGH. Like corn chip funk! Gotta love doggy skin yeast infections!! Took him to the vet and was given antibiotics. Well, that cleared up the secondary infection from biting and scratching but he soon developed an ear infection and an even worse yeast overgrowth. Within one week his ears were the worst I have ever seen. And the smell was from his ears AND skin so I knew his skin had it too. He would get bathed and smell good for 2 days and then smell like he hadn't been washed in a year. Vet said they rate yeast on a scale of 1-4 and his was a 10. The poor guy was spending all day itching and looking pitiful! The skin on his belly had that black waxy discoloration too. Well....long story but after 3 weeks and two different ear medications his ears were only a tiny bit better. (problem is antibiotics often worsen yeast infections) I went online and saw the reviews for Zymox and they seemed pretty promising so I purchased the ear solution, shampoo and rinse. I got all three and didn't really expect miracles but decided it was worth a try. The day i got it, i used the shampoo, the leave in rinse, and the ear solution. The NEXT day - no lie - ears were 80% better. Skin is still smelling fresh 3 days later and the redness is pretty much gone, the black discoloration is decreasing and the skin is showing some pinkness again. Oh, and his ears on day 3 look almost back to normal. Still some itching but definitely improved. Some reviewers said they use the shampoo and rinse once or twice a week until completely cleared up so I will do that too. SO far I am a firm believer in this stuff......I will wait and see just how well it works a few week from now and update this review. For now, I am a happy camper and so is my fur baby!

Seriously Disappointing Zymox Product
I've used Zymox products before (otic solution, hot spot ointment, etc.) and was pretty pleased with them. Decided to try the enzymatic shampoo and rinse for my dog's persistent pyoderma. Bathed her with the shampoo and applied the conditioner as directed, but 10-15 minutes after rinsing and drying off she was covered in hives. Unfortunately, despite smelling nice and giving her soft fur, this product made my dog look and feel even more miserable. I give it three stars because it seems like a decent product; it just didn't work for my dog :(

Love It.
My baby was so red, splotch, bumpy and itchy. These are the before pictures. Been using for a week. The shampoo, rinse, and the spray. It has really calmed the itches. He is still red but greatly reduced. He just got his second shampoo after a week. I had been applying the rinse after shampoo then everyday once a day and also the spray. I have also used the ear ointment and worked very well. After week all cleared up. First day I used ointment for ear it got really itchy and red however it got it all cleared and healthy. Only use ear ointment for maintenance. I also love the smell of the rinse and shampoo. New pictures in three weeks..... The Zymox spray I am not sure it works on what he has...I may send just the spray back however if I used Zycox ear ointment instead it seems to work better with Shampoo and rinse. Update: Jan27, 2016... Zymox rinse, Zymox shampoo, and ZymoxHC spray. Most of all the redness is gone...he still bites at spots however I am still going to continue putting the products on him. I have put on him everyday except yesterday....I did not put on any yesterday however I notice today he is biting a little however not as much as before..I also changed his food to Blue Freedom and also stop using another brand of dental sticks and see how this works. I will also add pictures soon and will update again..

It leaves his skin/coat nice and smooth
Most definitely eased my pooch's itchy skin for a few days. He is now able to sleep more and scratch less. Every few days when the itchiness starts again, I soak him in coolish water mixed with soda bi-carbonate and a few drops of Zymox shampoo. After rinsing him with clean water, I apply Zymox rinse and leave it on his skin. It leaves his skin/coat nice and smooth. Defintelyrecommend

Happy pooch
Wasn’t sure about this. It’s thick & to my mind definitely a conditioner not a leave in lotion. However I read the instructions & used it on my boy. An 8 year old Bichon with long term dry, itchy & consequently sore skin. Rubbed it well in, wrapped him in a baby grow. As you do! It’s truly helped. Have done the above twice now, only once a week for the past 2 weeks. The soreness has gone. He’s stopped the constant licking & biting. His skin still looks a bit pink. It’s also slightly drier than I’d like but is much more moisturised than it was. That awful yeasty smell had also faded a lot. I think another couple of sessions & we’ll be there. Will continue to use it when bathing him tho. Expensive? Yes. But worth it surely if it helps.

Smells great, curbs the itchy skin
I started using this with the shampoo and it seems to help my 6year old goldendoodle with her itchy skin. We've been struggling to resolve yeast issues in her ears and on her feet and this seems to curb her chewing and licking the spots on her feet. I only use this (with the shampoo) on her fur now. Smells great too!

Excellent
My GSD was constantly itchy so much so she would occasionally need vet treatment due to her constant scratching and regular piriton. This product appeared to work overnight, applied once and has not scratched all week!! Great fresh smell a bonus.
